just wondering what people tend to use oil filter wise. so far i have stuck with the honda oem filters but always hear people talking about the Hamp filters etc and them being designed with the Rs in mind.

was just wondering what people thought?
are there any benefits etc?

I've currently got a HALFORDS oil filter, I was desperate. But I have got some HAMPS for next oil change.

HONDA OEM oil filters are more than fine.
I got HAMPS because they are cheaper :)

where u tend to get yours bon?? only place i can find them is on ebay.paid £10 for a honda filter and new washer.

Introducing Japan Honda's aftermarket line of automotive products..."HAMP Synergy". HAMP Synergy are aftermarket products designed by Honda and are a step up from the "Honda Original Parts" products. Not meant to compete with racing produts, however, these pieces are quality. The HAMP oil filter can be used on any Honda, but was specifically designed for use in the Type-R and S series cars in mind. Features include a unique release valve that dynamically adjusts to the conditions within the filter to keep the oil flow and pressure constant. The HAMP oil filter will last longer and filter better than any of the oil filters currently on the market.

dont quiet get what it means.just intereseted.would it mean a more constant psi rather than just more psi sandwiches??

The blue 'HOP honda orig parts oil filters also have this relief valve, all it does is let oil bypass the filter element when the restriction is simply too much, this is in a general sense when the filter is reaching the end of its useable life and is basically blocked up almost. Wheras a filter without a relief valve will be a big restriction in the oiling system when its getting to the end of its usable life. Hence leaving the engine vulnerable.

Most filters nowadays have this relief valve. The primary difference between the Honda HOP & HAMP filters is the filter-element itself and its construction.. when you take the two apart, the HAMP ones seen to have more folds (surface area) and a slitghtly different filter material.
