I have a cusco oil catch tank to fit this weekend

Whereabouts in the engine bay does this go, and what hoses goes to which parts of the engine. is it a straight fit, no bleeding or anything required after fitment? or anything?

pictures would really be a big help from someone elses engine bay, labeled up on paint or something would be even better! im pretty useless with fitting stuff hehe

cheers!

Port off back of valve cover goes to catch can, second port of catch can goes to vacuum source on intake manifold or intake arm. This is how the Japanese do it.

could you provide me with any pictures of this mate, or your engine bay if you have one. with some arrows here and there :)

what is port 1 and port 2 on the catch tank. left or right? or does it matter?

my catch can is setup differently so photo's of mine won't help, it will actually really confuse you. as far as ports it does not matter. Basically just look under your hood, right next to the oil cap there is a nipple with a tube attached to it. You can see photo's of this here:

in the last picture its the blue hose, that one is aftermarket, yours will be black. your catch can will go between the intake arm and valve cover. so 1 port off the valve cover to catch can, the other port on catch can goes to the intake arm.

ah.....so the catch can is added to the system, so for example...that blue hose would be split into two, and the catch can is added to that system in between

I would connect between that valve is in the middle of the intake manifold plenuns to the nipple on the top of the intake manifold.

Between the port off valve cover and the nipple on the top of the intake manifold is useless.

agreed :nice:

There's a few pix on the last page of my project thread you might be able to make it out from there;)

i'm not sure what exactly your saying, it sounds like your saying use the IM for the vacuum source then it seems like your saying not to.

exactly :nice:

Guys, this is an oil catch can, not a breather can.

The way to connect an oil catch can (i.e jdm style) is from the rear of the rocker cover (there is a nipple sticking out) -> can -> intake pipe just before the TB (there is also a nipple)

cheers M factory

now youv got me curious, whats a breather can? is that the thing with that mini air filter thing iv seen can go?

here you go:

Haha, thats what ive been trying to say this whole time, you said it much better :nice:

Sorry then my mistake.

But I thought that the catch can would be connected between to a valve that came from the crankcase ventilation an is placed in the middle of the plenuns on the intake manifold and to the nipple on the top of the intake manifold right after the TB.
That way a catch can it going to catch much more oil than on the other place were you saying.

For a breather can I would connect the way you are saying.
