No don't know the car. Yeah noticed mileage but would imagine when they fitted the pistons new rings etc would have been fitted.

You would be surprised what power you can get out of a d16. That engine
is probably around 12.0:1 compression maybe more.

some of the d series gearboxes have real bad ratio's and this been a example. 3rd gear hitting a ton nothing a final drive kit wouldn't sort
