I'm currently thinking of selling up my current car, a Renault clio 182, (please save me the French crap jokes ;) ) and replacing it with an EK9 CTR. I'm really just after some advice as to any common problems to look for, also any trusted dealers/importers in the UK people would recommend. If there is anyone based in the southwest in the Bristol/Swindon area if you guys have any meets I would be interested to come along and see a few cars in the flesh.

TIA

:D

We could help you out mate, although we are not based close to Bristol, we do have a delivery service though.:nice:

Either SB-Performance or type-r-dunk (he is in Reading) They will both sort you out with a quality EK9.

i am getting type r dunc to import me an ek9. his website is on the forum, fast jap cars. very helpful dude and knows his stuff.

dude come to castle combe should b an ek9 stand and ollyek9's on track so you can see one canin' it:nice:

Welcome!

Well, the first advice I can give you, is to stay away from ek9s that where used in a climate with snow, mine came with snow tires, damn, that car had a lot of rust! but nothing to be a lot worried about, but for me it was a big deal, because I always want to have a perfect car.

Also, I recommend you to buy a ek9 located in your country, specially if you don't have patience.

Ask for this if you buy a car already in your country:

auction sheet (if any)

original grade of the car, 3.5 grade + = good

Japanese export certificate copy, there you can see the mileage of the car when it was exported.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the info so far guys. Jammer, when is the EK9 stand going to be at Coombe? I'm only about 20mins drive from there so would be good to have a look.

Has anyone had any experience dealing with Torque GT? This
Japanese performance car specialists - Torque-GT.co.uk

Looks fairly clean and reasonably priced compared to some of the examples i've seen listed. Alot seem to be either fairly rough and abused looking and all the clean ones seem to be a bit overly high on price. I know I'll obviously pay a premium for a good example but some prices vary wildly.

if you only live 20 mins from combe, duncan crawford woudl be closer to get an EK9 from, type r dunk on here...

The one duncan is getting me has snow tires? :/

my spindle, rotors & calipers have been rusted, a sign that the car has sat in deep snow, good thing the body has very minimal rust damage, nothing a good washover couldn't fix.
