Right guys I need help again. My car is after dying in power. At the weekend I took off from traffic lights, hit vtec in 1st gear then went into 2nd and she died at around 7000rpm.The car has been slugish ever since and wont rev past 6000rpm.All I can think is that I recently fitted a cold air feed.If it were blocked or not bringing enough air to the engine.Could this be my problem?

most likely an oil related problem, when was it changed? is the level ok?

Shes dew a service alrite.I'll give the oil a check.cheers

Check your oil if it's low top it up asap dont wait till the service, also you say you fitted a cold air intake? is it an open cone type and was it wet/raining when you started to have problems as you might have got water in your filter/inlet or engine check and dry out what you can if there wet

Oil seems to be grand. Was a bit wet the last day when I was driving.Cold air feed is going from the front bumber into the bottom of my air box with a spoon panel filter inside.

when was it last changed tho(how many miles) thats the important thing?
also any leaks around the v tec solonoid? (on the side of the head)

Got my vtec back again took it for a spin today when it was dry.I'd say the problem was lack of air getting into the engine. At b16 mini:Serviced every 10kkm.Its not dew for another 2kkm.Checked the oil doesnt look one bit low.No oil leaks either.

oil should idealy be changed every 5k km,(about 3000 miles) if driving the car hard!
