Hello there all :)

TITLE MEANT TO BE EJ9 NOT EK4 MY BAD NOT KNOWING MY HONDAS PROPERLY ;)

So after owning 106 and a 306 d turbo and that breaking got sick of french! i thought it was time to go honda after getting talked into it by me uncle who owns a ep3(gay) :p:p

So i bought this last Wednesday for £900, took about hour and half to get it from wrexham but i think it was worth it as apart from a few scratches and abit of bubbling on 1 arch its pretty much immaculate. and inside is the same no fag burns everything works as it should and im made up with it :)

I'm not to keen on the boot spoiler on the window not to sure who put that on

Super sonic blue and has 48k miles and pretty much full honda service history, came with 12 month MOT and 6 month tax so i wasn't complaining for £900 i think i did pretty well.

These are the only pictures i got of it so far sorry :(
But it won't be standard for long got plans for it, first is to lower it as i hate standard height on cars.
and then lots more but you will see in time as i get the money together going to be a slow process!

nice wee project you have there mate! lovley colour that :nice:

one question though, why does it have drums on the back?

Nice base mate. good price to for such low millage! Although I think this is an ej9 not an ek4

i was asking my self the same, i said this to me uncle and he said because its a 1.4 and probably doesn't need disks on back where the vti etc will have disks.

and difference in an ej9 an ek4? sorry don't know much about hondas :(

a ej9 is a 1.4 EK shape civic comes with drum rears, grey dash etc and differant seats and a SOHC non vtec d14z4 (i think) engine which produces 88bhp(according to parkers)

a EK4 is a 1.6 DOHC VTEC b16 enigne which is about 170bhp (again parkers) and has black dash etc, rear discs, 262mm fronts? and a few others bits and bobs

since you said u were a previous 106 owner, all EK shaped civics parts fit each other such do the base 106 and gti model so easily enough to swap bits over. Since you have the d14 engine id recommend the D16 mini me swap have a search for it on the net basically gives SOHC vtec, i have it and was rolling roaded at 130bhp at the fly with stock mani and a cat still, unless your budget streches to a b series well worth that!

hope this helps sure more people will help you aswell :D

Thank you very much for clearing that up so indeed it is an ej9 not to worry i have been thinking about the conversion but this would be done in about a year want to get exterior/interior all tip top first and to how i want it and i'd probably save up the £1000+ for the b16/b18 swap. but i have heard about these d16's being actually pretty nippy for SOHC vtec and there pretty cheap to pick up?

Yeh buddy very cheap about 150 for a d16 engine from memory.. pretty nippy for what they are. i find the 130bhp is more than enough for myself however after ek9 meet other night i want a b series so on hunt for a cheap'ish ek4 or mb6..

yeah 130bhp for 150 - 200£ is not bad at all to be honest and thats stock so you throw a few quid at it to get abit beter bhp

not just yet pal want to get the body mint first type r lips, wheels etc.

we all have to start somewhere, this is a good base for a project car.Keep us updated with any progress ;)

congrats on the purchase mate looks like a nice clean base to work on

Good start and not a bad colour either. Health to enjoy and make sure you treat her right if its only got 50k on it. If you are for removing the spoiler, chances are it will leave holes in the bootlid, when getting these filled and sprayed remov the wiper for the ek9 look too ;-)

im unsure on the spoiler it does something but then other people say it looks gash so im in mixed minds haha.

and i sure will look after it mate :)

Buddyclub pro spec 3 fitted, sounds hmmmmm a little loud and thats with the centre box still in!

arite dude , good car youve got yourself there :) .
keep the mid spoiler theres not alot of ek/ej civics with them. i have mid spoiler and a ek9 spoiler on my ek4 and i think it looks mean.
good exhaust aswell

looking forward to more updates

it is mate all sound apart from a squeak from the front wheel maybe something to do with brakes or even a bearing.
had a new clutch put on also because i seem to or person before me ****ed it over.

****ers on nearly 50k now aswel, soon as it hits that im not going as far want to try keep the shell on as low mileage as possible not to bothered about engine as in the next year it will probably have a b18 swap.

but for now that buddyclub is the first proper mod, i've been looking for other stuff think next purchase is either going to be lowering springs or the front bonnet grille without the honda badge etc, also going to purchase some square plates :)

alright talking about it it's getting the money is the problem haha only 18 next month you see so only on 180 a week after running the car and paying few bills your left with nothing! but birthday money should see me a few parts :)
