my new daily car

Nice daily mate, really like these! Love the sound of the 5 cylinder with an aftermarket exhaust!

Would the st not be dearer as a daily drive than the 9?

very nice daily mate not to keen on the st or rs however the colour gives it a nice edge
Thanks yeah each to there own mate appreciate you honesty, an the 9 is there for U then ;) an the colour is one of the things I love aswell so nice when its clean :)

real nice car i would love this as a daily  still should get a little sticker that says my other car is a EK9 or something ;) very nice
thanks its a pretty nice daily :) that's a great idea I was lookin at a plate, ek09 jdm but the st's a 58 plate haha typical

it is but I wanted a refined car an the ek9 is way past that now with coilovers, 4pots, stripped, race engine mounts an good knows how many more mods so the st although expensive to run is so comfy even tho iv just got it lowered :)

Looks nice mate

Thanks dude

Whats been done to it so far then?

got mountune 260 pack which consists of new induction kit, intercooler and remap then its also got a cat back mountune exhaust system its lowered on eibach springs and got a Collins dump valve, goes well for a fat ford to be fair to it :D rather chuffed with the performance

I get what you mean. I want a daily drive car too, I was thinking a diesel though for economy

comfy cars and all but really wasn't impressed with standard performance (aware yours isn't standard). first time i drove one i had a very scary sideways moment on a long sweeping corner even with all the esp, my fault though for forgetting it wasn't my 9. apart from that they are very nice to drive

2 very nice cars. How do you find the ST handles compared to the EK9?
thanks alot :D its not as chuckable but I think that more to do with the weight, not had it on track yet, but it certainly handles very well for a big car that's prob the main reason i got it, i drove Astra vxr an corsa vxr Astra felt horrid an nearly dragged me into a curb when put foor down on a round about, corsa much better handling but lacked power, meant to be chocolate bottom end on corsa aswel :( drove this down some back lanes and loved it :)

i was going to get something economic but i knew a diesel wouldn't have been fun for me to drive daily, i love an exhaust note too so i would have got bored of Seidel, it can be economic i can average 35-40 mpg an have many times, but the sound of the 5 cylinders kind of makes me want to go quicker :D

never drove a standard one to be honest, my mate has one also an when his was standard he said it was a bit boring :) yeah they do have to be driven differently to be fair, my 9 I can chuck in an get a bit sideways an hold it, this I find is good if U have traction off and you can use the power to pull you out of a hairy moment :) as I have it now it handles an pulls great, that's been tested (without the eibach springs) on the evo triangle in the wet, although I am running very good tyres, so depends what the car you drove was on, as they male a huge difference on st's iv been told

What's the road tax like on it in wales? Over here it's a fortune and that's the only reason I wouldn't get one

£260 for full year on the st so only £15 more than my civic due to it bein import haha this is one reason I didn't got for a mk5 r32 as if newer than 56 plate it is £440 a year ahhh expensive, so st aint that bad really :)

The tax on one of them in ireland is over €1000, the civic is €440 i think. The tax is the reason I wouldn't get one here. I really need to get out of this country!!!:angry2:

not usually a fan of the st but this looks quite nice a subtle in the grey. Its nice having a daily and a track car :)

The volvo t5 engine they use in the st is a awesome engine. You should see 300bhp out of it quite easilly. Volvo pumped 300bhp out of it back in 2003 with no trouble at all. Was told aswell that when ford tested the engine to see if it was good enough to go in the st they run it flat out on a test bed for 2 weeks non stop and it survived no problem.

Thanks :) I wanted a bit of a suble, comfy, powerful car an this fitted the bill :) it is good, cant wait till got engine sorted in the ek9 should be great with the new bits on :)

Yeah iv heard there a good engine, an I need that as I drive hard. They are good for more, seen a few rs's running 470bhp ish but need a fair bit of work lol il be happy with 320bhp an few subtle mods so it stands out a bit more

Just budget for a RS clutch when going for that power! It's pretty hit and miss.
