Lovin those pics ^^^ ha ur rite too man its ur car drive it as you like
With the rate my car is goin definatly wont make Feb id say
But stranger things have happened ha. But i will be in mondello in 2015 for my first ever track day
Cant count the backroads as a track
Yeh, I don't feel ripping through my 'box gains me much so I don't bother, Never bother shifting in the blood either! Get it sorted, Mine needs an MOT and more work done for before then, Getting a hotel booked for the night before too so I'm good and fresh that morning because it's 3.5hrs for me.
Good choice on the sump, that's got to be the most hassle free way of doing it.
Plans for the car sound good. Thought about using that syncro 80 gear oil in mine as well so would be interested to see how you find it
Cheers boss! Yeh, I just can't seem to find that balance between cold starts and track. Hate paying sub £50 for gear oil though, but if it's worth it I don't mind.
Used syncro 80 before, decent enough oil if your using a plate LSD.
Probably switch back to it when my cars finally back together.
I don't have a plate LSD just want robustness so the 'box stays in perfect operating condition.
Yeah kris his work recently is top quality and has been for me anyway , wouldn't go anywhere else now , your talking £140 per bumper usually :\ compared to most I find this an alright price , good job on the sump I just bought the baffle kit and am baffling my own , but that mugen one looks proper mint !
I must get in touch with him Adam, also the baffles are just a copy of the Mugen baffles, I went through a Mugen whore phase for a week before Christmas and decided I wanted a Mugen one.. lol.
this really makes me miss my 98spec ...
They are lovely car's the '98+ JDM's, I can't imagine anyone not enjoying ownership 'IF' they get a good one! Love mine to be honest, I was gonna go DC5. But there are plenty more years left in DC5's, Good DC2's are becoming rarer and I want to enjoy a good solid '2 while I can
.
Really like this build up keep the updates coming! Where did you get the mugen sump from?
Cheers! Ordered it from RHD Japan mate, Raped by customs and shipping, as usual...
So yeh, Went back home (Ireland) for a couple of weeks over xmas and really enjoyed seeing the car again, As usual with my visits I have a host of parts to bolt on which I've accumulated through a lot forum browsing and online car shopping.
Car hasn't been washed since it was put in the garage, but I don't mind it went dry which is the important thing. It can be washed and polished at a later date once I get the mechanicals sorted!
The work began! Honda driveway.
First task was to think about how I was going to fit my MOCAL oil cooler kit:
16 Row
Braided lines
Themostatic sandwich plate
Bumper off.
Mock fitting (Excuse foggy headlights, Never got a chance to polish them up yet):
Line routing, Braid looks racey!
Made some little stainless brackets and drilled the crash bar, It's heavy duty material! I also used locking nuts and put rubber washers between each points of contact to reduce vibration though the cooler.
Cleaned, polished & waxed the hidden parts of the slam panel:
Also gave the bonnet catch a good clean & degrease:
