My 96 spec dc2!!!

Taking most this off another site so bare with me!!


Most people know this dc2.. I bought it off the sister.

So had to change a few bits. Here it is when I first got back

I was never mad on the yellow p1's so changed them for some SSR Type C

Swapped bonnets with one the friends earlier and was planning on spraying the carbon bonnet white but think I'll leave it as is for awhile

I should have a gurney flap for it next week, am going to but a j's duct in the bumper an spray it white, change the front lip and am getting a Recaro fixed back for it. Also have a toda v1 for it but it's in auz and I won't have it home till next time I go back.

Engine is a bit smokey but it doesn't bother me at all. I have most parts here for a rebuild so just have gather the rest of the bits and will get the rebuild done.

So far spec is:

Standard b18c R

96 spec s80 with ATS 3th 4th and 5th

J's racing ecu

Mugen manifold

Decat

Mugen cat back with silencers removed

Blox filter with velocity stack, heat wrapped intake and direct cold air feed

Spoon shocks and springs

Ssr type C's wrapped in t1r's

Spoon style lip

Spoon style mirrors

Carbon bonnet, not sure on make

So was planning on rebuilding my own b18 but this engine came up very cheap so I snapped it up straight away.

Spec of it is:

B16a Head fully ported and polished,
Head skimmed 1.0mm,
New Skunk2 valve Springs and New OEM Civic Type R retainers
3 Angle contact valves,
New spurious valve stem oil seals, valves reground and reseated.
New OEM Honda headgasket, intake manifold and exhaust gasket.
Stock B18C Type R Bottom end and internals.
New Gates timing belt and Blueprint tensioner, new HAMP oil filter
New OEM waterpump.
New ARP Head bolts

Met Benny and Dylan on Saturday to pick it up, don't know what was worse, them having it jammed in on the back seat of the corolla or us putting it in the boot of the teg!!

Wasn't going to put it in straight away but had **** all else to be at this evening so got stuck into it! Had a Spoon yellow rocker cover sitting at home so put it on, along with Spoon earth cables, Mugen oil and rad cap, some new rad hoses and Spoon engine damper. Also picked up a cooling plate for it last week..

Have engine in and running and everything seems to be fine so far anyway. Done 50kms in it tonight and all was good! Might get it mapped now before I go back to Auz or might wait till I'm back and do few more bits to it, prob just set a cams and a toda mani which I already have for it!

Upgraded the brakes on the front today. I done the rears last week but kept with the standard 96 spec brakes an changed pads an discs

Put bits together for the front set up over last few weeks.. cost me a grand total of €95 :smiles:

Had one Caliper and another with carrier only cost me €25. Got two discs off VtecMossy for €20 and picked up a brand new set of EBC yellow stuff pads off Adverts for €50
