Figured some of you aussie guys woudl like this...

Figured id share my progress with my ecu upgrade:nice::nice:

have been taking pics all along and thought some of you may be interested-

I had a crome tuned ecu, thenc ame across a good deal on this setup and couldnt pass it up. the car has already made 509whp/340tq..

I am buying some cbr coils along with a motec 2 prong ignitor post. I will be running a wasted spark setup.

engine bay is clean of all stock engine wiring

*note T1 modified distrubitor

i need help trying to get rid of all the stock connectors.. im not sure if i can just simply cut them off and cap each wire.

I need to wipe down all the dirt and put a coat of wax where i can..

my motec engine harness "snake skin sheathing".. i need to get better pics of this to really show its quality..

then i got the ecu powered up and took the map off the ecu.. its a map some one has made 750whp with it on a honda.. to bad it wont see that for a long time again.

i cut a bigger hole in my fire wall to allow the harness to be pulled though, one day i am going to remove the heater and ac inside the car so i can re-route it through the stock holes.

wow, great work! why the switch to motec? its a great system thats for sure but all the wiring it needs :nerv: why wasted spark? have you decided on which ignition box to use? what are you going to use to get the cam signal? post up some info on the turbo/engine setup in a new thread :nice:

its using the stock signal from the distrubitor(ref/sync)

im using a bosch dual modul setup with cbr coils.. will explain more tomorrow

wiring is easy, its plug and play.. nothing really hard about getting a power and ground.. hehe

motec makes a plug and play harness? or did you have one made? thats the part im saying is a pain.

MoTec M4 Honda Harness

My co-worker has done numerous motec installs, it takes him about all day he says. Its a very good system, if your willing to cut your stock connector, or buy a harness

sticky thread! thanks for sharing mate! :)

Very nice equipment. Its nice to see people buying the BEST! keep us updated. And if you dont mind me asking... how much was the M4?

you can get a motec M400 too now, they are not teh cheapest ecu`s but by many they are regarded as the best,

motec M4 is about £800 GBP

the ecu itself is not too expensive, about the same price as AEM EMS but the motec needs a $1600 harness

You could make a harness of the same quality for about £300/$600+
Its the connectors and special crimp-pins that cost.

Either way MoTeC is faar superior than AEM or Hondata, simply the best out there. The stuff you can do with them is immence, thats why theyre so popular with race teams who do circuit racing.
