I can get atleast 420 out of my teg on a long run. Just over 300 average though

Im thinking of gerting a b16 to ease my commute a bit. Plus other factors

i managed 500 miles on 45 quid lossiemouth to worcester....b16a1 crx....not known anything beat it yet :)

i get around 260ish hitting vtec one offs lol, from about 45-50litres, best to get a diesel imo

If you're doing that sort of mileage I'd get a small diesel snotter. My EK4 gives about 250ish miles a tank, but I can't resist the urge to Vtec at every possible opportunity, but 500 miles a week? Unless my job gave me a fuel card I wouldn't fancy running something quite thirsty.

Going by some of the figures in this thread, you'll end up spending roughly £100 a week to get you 500 miles. Working out at (again roughly) £400 a month, near enough £5,000 for the year.

If you bought something cheap and economical, like this:
1996 CITROEN AX 1.0 Elation

It would cost you the same as the first month of fuel to buy, and it would be nearly half the amount per month on fuel. So if it cost you £50 a month to insure the thing (no idea on your personal circumstances such as age, ncb etc, just a rough figure) then you are still saving a fair bit, and keeping the mileage off of your Honda! Again, this is all very rough and wear & tear isn't factored into things, but buying a cheap runaround will start saving you a fair bit of money within 2-3 months.

averaged 15mpg on the run in the car yesterday, mostly cruising about 6k revs with alot of time spent in vtec :D

LOL loving the citreon, but its true you probably save half the money running something cheap like that :)

I always fill up £20 at a time. Currently getting 14.5litres @ 137.9 for £20.

This will get me 120-130 miles, (combined) although i drive the car with CARE and sit at 60mph on the motorway.....

I average about 250 miles per tank which is roughly 28mpg, Most of the time when I go out I use VTEC and I don't really aim to drive economically.

Live in Ireland and petrol at 1.62€ I get about 50-60 kilometres out of a tenner! That's with no demistifier things on or lights or anything :) and obviously no tec'n goin on either

I just recently got about 30mpg out of my EJ9, wasn't exactly driving economically at all... :angry2:

Not bad for some! I get about 70-80 with the same sort of mixed driving. 40 if I give it death :(

I thought my teg was thirsty but doesnt seem too bad after reading some of these posts does about 250-260 on a tank

I put £40 into my EJ9 and get 300miles easily, with petrol at mines roughyl 136.9. Not sure what that is per gallon, about 40 I think. Mostly motorway driving though :nice:
