I"m looking for guys who have the 1.625,1.296 and 1.0 close gear and 4.785 final gear installed on their cars...

What do u think of of performance?
How does your car feel?
What s the gain you got on acceleration?

I'm still not sure on whether to buy both or only the final gear...

Thanks guys :nice:

Dont think anybody on here has that combo? I dont think the gears on their own would be much difference, slightly less of a drop in revs as you change to oem but should be a good combination with the 4.78FD as well though. The 1.000 drops 2.5k as you change up to give you an idea.
There a couple of recent vids of MF combos in this section, I am running 1.695/1.384/1.130 (and have tried the 1.000 5th), hope to have some vids up next week..

That will be the combo i will be going for...... Having a good few hours of playing around on the MF RPM vs speed calculator i think that would make a very good difference........

I would recommend getting the 4.9 final drive and just keep the rest of the gears stock. It will wake up your car nicely without having to limit your top speed or make cruising speeds a high RPM affair.

While inside the gearbox, I highly recommend changing out the diff carrier bearings and input shaft bearing. Don't forget to clean the factory magnet!

I would also opt for a lightweight aluminum flywheel ....something from Fidanza will work very well. If you can afford to go the whole way and your clutch feels tired....go with an OEM Integra-R unit.

Thanks for the advice! :nice:

What is the secret of the OEM ITR flywheel?
But then I've already ordered a spoon flywheel...

What will be the difference if you instal the 4.9 final gear compared to the 4.7?

4.9 final drive all your gears will be shorter then the 4.7.....

EK9 and DC2-R is the same IIRC. So nothing wrong with that setup.

The fidanza one is 7.5lbs or 3.4kg

vs.

Spoon which is 9.24lbs or 4.2kg

Having had both - I can confidently say that there is a marked difference from having gone from Spoon to Fidanza. The Spoon one felt much like stock to my surprise despite the OEM unit weighing 15.2lbs (6.9kg)!

Don't you think that 3.4 kg is too light for daily drive?
Having had both you'd advise me to go the fidanza route? How did it feel?
I know I can sell the spoon one with a good profit here... :secret:

imo, it's never too light.

Those who say it's too light can't drive. Maybe that's a bit harsh but that's how I feel about it.

Even after I got the 3.4kg Fidanza unit, I opted to get something even lighter overall. Despite the flywheel being as light as it is, the clutch (pressure plate AND disc) are still "very heavy" compared to aftermarket units....specifically units like the ATS carbon super single.

The entire plate, disc, and flywheel only weighs 7.9kg!

I would definitely sell the Spoon unit. It's a good piece, but there are better alternatives for less.
