Greetings from Laredo, Tx. USA!

My name is Abraham but I go buy the name civicduty_. I've been a member to this site and never thought i'd need to post for help because almost anything needed has been asked and replied to already.

Most users here i've come to find are very friendly and helpful which is something that attracts a person such as myself. I look foward to returning the favor sometime with any input I may have to offer.

I own a 1998 EJ6 Honda Civic Dx which i'm currently wrapping up a B16b swap. I've come across a few issues but thats a different thread alltogether.

Here's the original D16y7 auto coming out of the engine bay.

This is the B16b manual purchased from Welcome to JHPUSA.com! - JHPUSA

Thanks for viewing my intro thread. :D

Thanks for your replies folks! As far as an update ok here goes.

The original setup was the D16Y7 w/auto trans. Took them out with 93,000 original miles. Sold them for $500.

Is it normal for the B16B to have liquid IM gasket? When I took the IM off I noticed it didn't have a metal or cork type gasket just liquid sealant.

Scraped the sealant off and ordered a Hondata IM gasket w/KingMotorsports extended stud kit.

*Extended studs are needed for the install of a Hondata IM gasket.

I've read the Hondata IM gasket actually does what it advertises which is it decreases IM air temp...I wasn't so much confiding in it making gobs of power but for $50, a reusable IM gasket is a good price.

When you purchase a used motor you're never quite sure how many miles/kilometers it really has so I decided to switch out the oem thermostat for a Mugen piece.

Coincidentally they both open at 63Celcius or 145farrenheit so no loss/improvement there.

Upon inspection of the IACV, I noticed it to have aluminum metal shavings trapped in between the valve so I had no other choice but to chunk it.

I later noticed the IM chipped a bit at the throttlebody mouth.

I found a TB gasket made from the same material used for the Hondata gasket on inlinefour.com so I purchased and installed it.

Purchased and installed the a set of NGk's BKR6EIX-11 which I later found here to be the incorrect oem CTR set. These are actually used for the USDM Honda Civic Si but not the JDM CTR. Should I expect any problems?
