I decided to change the oil today, basically I wasn't happy with how quickly the Silkolene Pro S 5w40 is burning, it's not exactly cheap. I figured if my engines going to burn it so quickly I might aswell stick in some (perfectly adequate) cheaper Castrol GTX 10w40.

Anyway all was going well untill I had to remove the oil filter. It took over an hour:angry2: tried 2 different oil filter removal tools and eventually just whacked a screwdriver through it as I was getting frustrated. Anyway, job done...

I'm just looking at making it a bit easier for next time, came across K&N oil filters and noticed they have a nut on the top so you can get a spanner on it. K&N Oil Filters - Oil Filters for Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, ATV's, Boats, and more!

Anyone tried these? Are they as good as the HAMP I'm using?

I used one, and I have no complaints, some mechanics here even say that this filter can handlle 2 oil changes without replacing the filter, I really don't know if that true, but I used it without any problems :)

It doesn't list one for the Integra Type-R though, or any B series Honda

I heard the same thing that RVM said, "that this filter can handlle 2 oil changes" I've used it once and had no problems with it, but went back to using the oem Honda filters.

What's the part no for the one you guys had, then?

Stick with OEM, its high quality and it works. The OEM filter will go ten changes on the same filter just like the KandN but te releif valve will eventually be used when the oils gets too dirty.

You can buy the cup tool for bettween £5-10 on ebay that is perfect for the HOP (honda orig parts- blue) or HAMP (honda aftermarket parts-green) filters. :nice:
