Hey guys, ive noticed with my j's racing carbon fibre whale intake that i get lots of heatsoak, what are good ways of stopping it?

I was maybe thinking of putting an extender like this one :

- on the end of it and running it underneath like a CAI intake and having a pod protector for water and debri? would i see good gains has anyone done this before?

Why don't you do the easy way and replalce your j's induction with a aem cai???? or if you want to keep the j's and continue trouble free about sucking water you can fab an enclosure box and keep the filter on the engine bay but with a little more protection from the heat.... I've a pic from that on my pc, I'll look for and when I found it I'll put it here ;)

not the picture that I promised, this one is from Google but is the same thing........ You just need to isolate the filter from the rest of the engine bay creating that box\case\coffin\whatever you wanna call it lol......

you can make that in carbon fiber like this one for the ft86

You would want a cold air feed to that as well though so it gets plenty of fresh air
