Jimmys Ek9 - b20 to k20 s/c build

Well I can't help but agree although that K20 must be good!

She's been off the road for awhile but MOT on saturday, got a euro trip lined up in the next few months, I think I have everything I need minus a full length mishimoto rad!

Haha, yeah I miss that engine loads man.. My mate showed my this vid at around 11:35 a while back, I almost cried lol!

Better get yer butt into gear! :), when are you thinking of going? I still need to go as I missed out a couple of weeks back with my mates! boo

Hopefully the re-mot should be fine with some changes..

That video is savage!

Every time I get in that car its all smiles - I said to you from the beginning how much you'd regret it, romain from eurospec was genuinely impressed with the engine, the only real way to do a proper 2L engine. I've probably put less than 2000 miles on it in all!

Haha yes yes I have everything ready to fit the radiator, even got myself a little welder. We are looking at doing the stelvio pass and the alps, maybe a SPA trackday but we'll see! My brother has just bought a JRSC MX-5 for the trip!

Fingers crossed on your MOT mate, I'll hopefully be road legal saturday :p

Hehe, you were right indeed lmao. :nice:. Got the mot now, just needing to get down there in good time to tax it then to drive back up. :)

That sounds awesome, quite similar what I was planning to do with some friends but missed out. How'd the MOT go anyway mate?

got Knockhill planned for myself, maybe on the 20th if I can get a spot.

that looks amazing man

Thanks man! :nice:

Some seriously tasty work there pal!

I'm glad I chose the arches to be done this way, and not bolt ons lol. Well impressed, cant wait to get it round knockhill again

Meant to have this friday off but working now.. May have to wait another week. :(

i doubt you will miss the old engine once you try the gearbox proper on the K20

when i had the car running with the K20 the combination of the shifter / shorter KD / diff was amazing, so much fun!!!!

will be good to hopefully have a run in this if you are up at KH on the 20th :nice:

Hehe. I hope you're right steven! :)

Wont be around in the civic on the 20th, however I may be about in the daily to say hello etc.

Well, the build is coming to an end now, MOT'd, insured. Making the journey down south next week sometime to pick her up.... Yeeeaaahh!
:nice:

Excited much... I know I am haha.

That looks amazing mate,
Arches have come out nicely, everything looks right, loving the green cage!

Is it being set up somewhere down south?

Well, I'm up in scotland at the moment!

I did the swap and got it all running/rolling. I sent it down to get tuned/geo setup and MOT'd as Dan is god on the dyno and their work is amazing.

But yeah Silverstone to be precise mate. :nice:

Is that at Advanced motorsports& engineering?

Heard lots of good things about there work, some of the stuff on there website looks pretty cool

Certainly is! Yeah, its amazing the work they do. some of the car's they've had there... incrredible 1k whp supra's, GTR's - even John Henessey's GT venom thing.

Check out their facebook page, it's where they mainly post up their work.

- not sure if this will work, but well worth a peek.

too work mate, some work gone into those arches. I thought they were going to look odd but it looks sweet.

Yeah the link works:nice:

Do they have an on site body shop? Would love to work somewhere like that

Goodo, I don't think they do pal, they deal more in the mechanical side I do believe - whether they will branch out to that eventually, I'm not sure.

I havnt been there in a ages, may of changed - I should find out next week for you :p. I know the guy who did the arches used to do the old super touring cars, now he does vw's for shows etc - not sure if he works at advanced motorsport though.

Looks incredible mate, the arches look fantastic, a lot more subtle than I had thought they were going to be!
