Jesse888 Forged/stroker turbo ek9

So booked in at Hayes engineering with romain on the 23rd of feb.
Engines done nearly 600miles on mineral oil and the semi turned up today. That goes in tomorrow Along with more milage.
Fingers crossed for me on Monday, this engine has never seen more than 5k rpm so I'm nervous to see how it handles the full 9k I want to give it.

I think my clutch is going to be the weak link(assuming engine isn't lol) it's only CC stage 2 Kevlar and realy not meant for boosted engines. Was ok on the 16b but that didn't make much torque anyway.

Cheers guys.
I had romain do it last time. Was happy with the power delivery as you said.

Best of luck dude be sure to take vids ;) hope all goes well.

Being on the dyno is fair nerve rackin :nerv:

Hopefully my buddie can come with his new camera equipment, he's been wanting to play with video for a while so here is his chance lol

Had abit of a scare earlier, took the old filter off and the inside looked dry.
The filter element was brown and little oil came out when I took the filter off.
But the centre of it looked like new.
So I stuck the new filter on and filled with semi synth, went for a drive to get some heat into the oil.
Soon as I pulled up I took the filter off, oil went ******* everywhere lol
So it must be draining back out the filter and leaving it dry, atleast it's actually getting oil to the filter.
Very small amounts of metal on the sump plug, considering this oils done a good 450miles that's pretty good.
Will post up pics later.

Abit of cam cover refurb today and yesterday.
Abit of a rush job tbh but it looks alright.

No chance to clear coat it today because of weather, so stuck afew more miles on the engine instead.

Even for a rush job that looks pretty decent mate , nice one

Yeah it's not too bad, it's more upon closer inspection where you can see its flaws.
Happy enough with it.

What did you use to strip the rocker cover man i had awful trouble with the 3 i did took forever?

I used a paint stripped that was recommended to me on ebay. Is like a trade strength. Pretty good, use gloves though lol

Yeah had the colour made up at Halfords. The nozzle on the an started playing up so stopped painting, lucky it's all covered enough.

Had white cover before and liked it, so going back!

Managed to get some clear on the cover just now.
Looks alright from about 1meter, get closer and you can see its imperfections, afew bits of random fluff and grit have found their way into my clear coat!
Nevermind, **** happens.
Here's some pics, I love the look of wet clear coat, shame it never stays that shiney when it dries.

You can see the bit I had to miss because of the nozzle spitting, if I'd have tried to spray that it would have spat and ruined the rest of it, shouldnt see it once fitted anyway. Certainly not under a plug cover.

Last update today (promise)
Last coat of clear on and stuck my new an fittings on to see how it'll look. Much better than my current set up anyway.

Engines on approx 640miles now. All seems normal on that front.

^ Cool man sry but could you link me to what you used please im always spraying stuff an be handy to have a good paint stripper :)

I would of covered the threads for the oil cap, When you fit the oil cap the excess paint can fall into the engine. You don't want that
