Well, I have had the car almost 2 weeks now so I figured it was about time I put some pictures up and a little write up!

I previously sold my Skoda Fabia VRS as I was getting a bit bored of it, the car had done me well as I was doing quite a bit of mileage but my situation changed so I no longer needed the fuel economy / mile muncher :drive:

I didn't really have too much idea on EK9 so I went up to Torque GT to look at one which looked like a really nice example but it was the lightweight version, so I kept looking around. A few guys on here suggest Type-R-Dunk, so I had a look at his site and spotted this car. It was on 63k miles 1 previous owner and full spec so I was happy and put down a deposit.

Since collecting the car I have had the front bumper, bonnet, roof and rear spoiler all repainted as I wanted it perfect. The guys I took it to did a very good job so I was happy. I'd like to say I think it's one of the cleanest ek9's in the country now but I guess that would be a bit big headed

Here's a few pics!

Next thing I did was get the car on the rolling road. The local car club to me was doing a shoot out day and for £25 I figured I may as well. Here's the graph...

As I am a paintwork perfectionist I figured it was only right that I bought myself a machine polisher so I have just purchase a Kestral Dual Action polisher and will be putting that to good use soon so expect some more pictures!

Hope this wasn't too long winded and I haven't bored you all!

Jack.

Seen your dyno results on another thread but still the car looks clean!!

the car looks mint mate, though the engine should be giving out around 185 bhp. You're a bit off but it should go back up with a proper service.

Hmm I doubt many standard ek9's are putting out 185 on uk fuel. Maybe I just need to waken it up after a lazy life in Japan!

You're not too far from me, could you tell me where you got the body-work done?

Looks like a mint pre-facelift! :nice:

Yeah you're probably right on that one. High octane fuel is very popular in Japan and makes a hell of a difference! You could perhaps use a more high end oil, type-r engines loose power quickly on low quality oil.

Interesting you say that as I'm not 100% sure what oil was put in when Dunx serviced it. Any suggestion as to the best semi-synthetic oil?

Thanks for the comments :) Here's one more and my favourite.

thats just wishful thinking from an 12 year old car on our ek9 rolling road last year the best figure was myself at 176.1 the rest where not far off (b16b)

anyways top car matey looks pretty dam clean, get some breather mods on her make a surprising difference, and most of all get it on track and use it what they're built for:drive:

Car looks mint!

I've personaly NEVER seen an ek9 make 185 bhp on a dyno (standard) just because the book says it should doesn't mean it will....

put it on a "happy dyno" and you will get 190bhp :drive:

i wouldnt be worried about that figure at all mate,if it goes well then just enjoy it :secret:

nice car and pics.

Cheers mate, hopefully it will have a bit more of a shine to it when I can get working on it with the machine polisher. Have been on a bit of a shopping spree today, had to buy halogen lights for the garage so I can see what i'm working on and the polisher itself was just over £130. I'm sure it will be worth it! :nerv:

Now I just need to find a nice clean replacement airbox as mine had remains of heatproofing on it when it got shipped over. Anyone has anything lying around please pm!

I've seen your ek9 at dunx's! I bet it's a real clean car after you had your bits painted.

Mine was the facelift with 59k parked near yours!

I've just noticed, are you jaws off DW??

If you want any tips on using your da, give me a shout!

Yep I am :) and thanks I will probably need them ha. I have done a lot of reading up though! Thanks for the offer!
