ok guys i have an 00 civic vti b16a2 with ctr cams and so on. im away to fit a spoon ecu. i got a shot of a spoon ecu off my mate john who has a 00 ek9 got it all plugged in fired the car up and shortly after it died but i can only assume this is cos my car has an immobilizer witch cuts the fuel pump. so whats the way around this. can i run a wire from my fuel pump to the positive on my ignition so the fuel pump will keep running. or has anyone got other ways round this problem

cheers callum

if its a completly stock uk model then the immob is in the ecu, same as ukdm itr. by replacing the ecu to jdm or spoon you are effectivly getting rid of the immob. the key just sends signal to ecu... its the ecu that bails!!! so if indeed it is dying after start up check

has the car an aftermarket alarm?
is the new ecu indeed a spoon / jdm one? (could be chipped uk one with spoon sticker.. woulkd explain although runs in mates ctr?????)

the easiest way to check this is get a lend of obd2b ctr ecu and try that. spoon obd2b ecu's are very very race... even apexi didnt do power fc for that loom. you could buy obd2b - obd2a adapter and try a jdm ecu.....

hope this helps

cheers for that info. iv been told that it all depends if there is some sort of black box thing under the steering wheel that seems to be the immobilizer on the ek4 on the 00. i will ask and see if i can try his ctr ecu.

any other ideas im sure someone has fitted a spoon ecu to a vti on a 00 plate lol cheers
