Its actually a matt black but is wet in the pictures.

Nice job, bringing it back to life! It's gonna look good with the repaint. Get those brake on the car!

I am developing my crx for a few years already too, so every time I see new crx build thread - I check the content. Good luck buddy!

Holy Update time!

So its been a while i had to take the CRX to Tom over at FRD in middlesbrough to finish off the conversion and get the car running.Tom did quite a lot of work from building radiator mounts, extending wires, welding and fitting exhaust etc etc!

Heres a couple of photos from when it was at Toms.

Obviously in these photos the radiator wasnt mounted and it only had coilovers on the front!

As you may have seen i have been looking for some spoon mirrors, i managed to buy my old ones back from my old civic.

Also my girlfriend got me a geniune spoon gearknob for christmas, i cant believe for the price you have to put the sticker on your self!

Thats all up to now just a few jobs to finish, already got my insurance for quite a nice price. Need to secure the battery, sort the brakes, fit the lights and mirrors and i should be good to go.

Regarding the paint I'm going to see how it goes for a few months and have a save and hopefully take it to M.A autos for a full spray!

Little update, having trouble selling the brake conversion so will press on unless a buyer comes along. I had them sand blasted so they are looking fresh. Need to get some paint on them asap though. Just going to do them black then fit the refurb

So what was the brake upgrade your selling?
Is it better than the VT upgrade on my ef7?
Dunx

went to see the car on sunday get some jobs finished off ready for the MOT. Started by putting the headlights and sidelights back in also fitting the indicator lights. All tested and working fine, different bulbs in each headlight though luckily i have spare bulbs anyway

Fitted some of the rear plastics back in and tried to fit the spoon mirrors, as suspected the holes dont line up so will have to cut some new holes to get them to fit. My dad also took a look at the front brakes as they are sticking.

Actually got to drive it for the first time goes into all gears and no smoking which was a great concern gets up to temperature fine. Seems to have a strange idle and the clutch is incredibly difficult always wanting to stall. I have never driven a car with a new clutch though so may well be that.

Heres a few pictures of her, the gray patches on the Js lip are cracks in my geniune lip :( going to have to get a repair quote iv already had a quote of endless horizion for a new lip, not cheap!

I was going to fit the rear seats but having another look at the leg room i think ill try making a fake boot floor to tidy it up a bit as im not a fan of the stripped look.

A full respray is definitely on the cards in the next few months, i originally planned to drop a H series into the car but morf is no longer making his kit and i dont want to run a raised bonnet. I have been looking into the bisimoto kit but not that much info online and its still quite expensive.

Got to have a think about engine options, K or H as the prices are getting closer to each other still very temped by the H though.

Should be MOT'ed and tax for the first of february. cant bloody wait!

Stunning proyect! thanks for sharing :D

As others have said these are getting rare now. Should be nice when it's all done :)

Give it lots of love!

Mot day dawned on me, the brakes had freed them selfs off and we managed to roll the car off the trailer. Booked MOT went to move it brakes stuck on again. Drove it a few miles and they didnt free off just lots of smoke.

Looks like i will have to whip the calipers off and take a look. That a side i managed to get it cleaned which was nice as it had mould growing on it!

Immediate jobs are sorting the brakes

Then i have a few little things to do, fit new bulbs. Fit my square plates. Fit wind deflectors create a boot floor and we are well on the way

So had a day off today and set about doing some jobs!

First of all i wanted to change the rear number plate

1499603_274532109363974_1424331182_n.jpg

Looks alot better in my opinion!

1558475_274532092697309_1435035706_n.jpg

Also put one on the front! Still not sure about this i think i might prefer the uk plate

1622743_274532042697314_1792379796_n.jpg

Next task was to have a look at the brakes to see why it was stuck on, turns on the caliper is fully seized so i have whipped it off to get sorted tomorrow

1609887_274532136030638_152507709_n.jpg

I also cleaned the interior plastics and re fitted them into the rear, before i did this i also treated the inner arches to some rust protection.

I fitted some new wiper blades, bulbs and the air filter also. I give the engine bay a clean as well.

I bought a double din which was cracked so i set about plastic welding it. To be honest i was the definition of all the tools no idea! But i gave it a go and its now seems structurally sound. So i got it fitted

Anyway still things to fit!

So i have now removed the other caliper has that has seized also now. while i was out there was a leak under the car but there has never been a leak while its been sat.

Anyways i checked the oil in the engine this morning and thats spot on so believe its coming from the gearbox. i took this photo from the suspected source.

1743566_276343529182832_596375883_n.jpg

i assume its some form of seal around this area that needs replacing ?

As mentioned in a previous post my plan was to make a fake boot floor for the rear to tidy it up a bit. I set about starting that today. Its going to look a bit ghetto in these photos but it still needs joining together and covering in fabric etc so should look alot more tidier when its done.

After all this is the first time i have attempted anything like this so i dont think we did to bad to start with. The edges look a bit shocking but this can all be resolved.

The plan is to get a more appealing battery box so it becomes a feature of the boot. Buy a nice strut and it should look spot on once its finished.
