Just noticed with the heavy rain. Carpet in boot wet to passenger left hand side? Any ideas?

Rear lamp seals and or rear cabin vents (behind back bumper) are the usual culprits :nice:

Try the search button its quite a common fault been covered loads before :)

Thanks. Assume it will be the left side with the water being found in that area?

No problem, Yeah but if your going to do the job might aswell do both sides? Will save you the hastle of possibly repeating it later.

ive just spent alot of my weekend tracking down 2 leaks on my eg6 and neither were coming from the light seals which is where i thought it was coming in. Might not be in the same places for you but mine were a bitch to find!

The biggest leak was ending up in my passenger side rear arch at the back and if you look at your fuel cap you'l see the little drainhole at the bottom, behind that drainhole has the two pieces of metal which make up the rear quarter ( cant see it unless you remove the plastic guard for your fuel pipe ) and the water comes through the drainhole, down onto these 2 pieces of metal which had no sealent and into the car!

Its the first time id looked in this spot since i got the car 4 years ago and couldnt believe it, either the sealent fell out or it was never there in the first place! Cleaned it out and filled it full of tiger seal, pissed down today and its dry inside :)

Second leak was a crack in the sealent on the rear drivers side, cleaned it out, tiger sealed, fixed!

Il get some pics up tomorrow because that spot under the fuel caps drain hole is worth checking out! I also didnt realise the 2 bolts which hold your fuel cap on is 2 direct holes into your arches, if they let water in then kiss your arches goodbye lol

I have two genuine Honda rear light seals for sale
PM me if interested

take both tail lights on , seal with silicone and refit. sorted!

Water was getting into the car from these 2 places on mine..

( pic taken after cleaning out the crack )

Spoke to Honda today about the seals. He says there are real light seals and rear quarter seals. Anyone changed all 4?

Not sure, but when mine leaked you could see the water dripping down from the top of the rear light seals. The other seals could be for the rear cabin vents (under the lights, behind the bumper) again not hard to clean up and silicone up :)

Changing the seals worked fine. Still getting water into the boot though. It's getting in via a rusted rear spoiler bolt. Quick fix?

Prob be the lights rubber seal.. Mine was letting water in a wile ago but it was coming in at the wheel arch.. But aye a new rubber or just some silicone around the light be top job.. :)

real light seals for definite.. guy had a pair for £15 on here, worth changing both!

I have changed all 4 and the lights do not leak!!!! A bolt is letting water in from the rear spoiler. Read several posts back

the spoiler is held onto the tailgate with 4 bolts that have a rubber ring around them, so they shouldn't be leaking. my car was leaking through the seam sealant at the top of the roof join with the rear quarter as it was cracked and water somehow was getting through.

More likely than not it's the taillight gaskets that's leaking like others have said. Very common in EK hatch chassis overall

he said that he has already checked them..

I would advise the op to apply some silicone sealant like tec7 to the seam sealant around the top of the boot seam area and around the tailgate brackets.

The water is getting into the front 2 corners of the boot, just inside the lights

Also, when the boot is opened water drips out of the lid
