hi, im looking for some insight into a b16a i have.

the block is b16a2 , bored to 81.5mm and fitted with pct pistons

the head is a full ek9 head

i had to get the head resurfaced , and got 8thou taken off. however im not sure if the head was skimmed previously so not sure exactly how much has ben takin off ?

lets say if 8 was taken off previously and now this 8 so 16thou altogether, does anyone know will the piston to valve clearance be ok with that much taken off and the high comp pistons ??

also i calculated the compression ratio and it will be 12.7-1 would this be ok to run ??

what would people suggest, should i go ahead and fit the head, maybe get a thicker headgasket and fit it ? or buy a standard b16a head that hasnt ben skimmed ??

I have 81.25 oem CTR/PCT pistons in my B16A rebuilt. The compression is high, initially I used a CTR/PCT ECU, the engine locked badly. Now I use Power FC with dyno tune to get it run properly.

As for head issues, you might have check carefully. The PCT pistons stick out from the block already so any milling to the head might cause the pistons to hit the head. I have stock un-mill head and use stock thickness gasket. Hope that help you by little.
