Been driving the EK9 daily for the last 2/3 weeks :)

There seems to be a weird knock, it is like a loudish 'TUCK', which i only can hear randomly, it doesnt even occur when i go on bump roads, it just sometimes makes that sound on a random occasion. Made it twice on my way back from work (a 15 mile journey). Once on a random high street and one when i was pulling into my drive.

Any ideas guys? i can't afford to get a quote from Honda etc and am sure you guys will help.

Other then this TUCK noise, the car drives smooth (touch wood!)

Thanks
Waqas

Pulling away? driving straight? turning? lil more info needed!!

It has done it whilst turning before, in a straight line, car pulls a bit to the left when i let go of the steering, not sure if that is because of the camber or tracking.

Could be a cv joint on it's was out. If you put the car on full lock either way do you get the noise?

If you can get to me early enough Sat i will have a good look round for you while up on the lift doing the exhaust.
Dunx

Dunx...I am interested as to what it is/was, did you find the cause of the noise up front? :)

Jacked up the car last Thursday, the front right ARB Droplink was foooked, replaced that on the weekend, noise stopped for a day, now continues.

Thing is, my front left ARB Droplink is not a Honda one, so will be replacing that with a Honda one in a few days and hopefully the car will be sound :)

Thanks for the input guys...

Thank you for the update. What was the manufacture of the failed droplink?

The destroyed Droplink was a Honda one, but dont think it was ever changed, wear and tear pays a part in it. Honda build quality for droplinks is the best as i have heard from peeps ;)

Sorry, I misread your post. Thought it was an aftermarket one that failed.
Yes I agree with you and think the Honda droplink's are quality--but do wear over time.

Sounds like you have found only a part of your problem and not the route cause.

Maybe think along the lines of why both drop links have broken....

Check your ARB D-brace bushes and all of the other front suspension and bushes.

If you replace the drop link again - even with OEM Honda it may end up broken like the other two.
