hey guys.

I got a brand new spoon manifold and B pipe, due to being a UK civic, the B pipe will be shorter as this is made for J spec cars, right?

What can I use to bridge the gap between the cat and B pipe,

please all suggestions appreciated!

I believe they make adjustable decats for this job.

is there another option to avoid going de cat?

be a little annoying having to put the car through "dodgy" MOT's etc.

If you have a jdm manifold and b pipe then you need a jdm cat.

Uk cat is 17" jdm is 12" long iirc

As above JDM length cat.
They are your options really.

how can I source a brand new JDM cat?

I can imagine they're hard to find and expensive!?

There was a member on here who was talking about supplying brand new cats to JDM length.
You might find something online, sports cat or something.

Just get a good condition second hand one. They don't often have issues or wear out/fall apart

You can get a baffled/resonated decat for £50. Look for a dc2 baffled decat online. Job done, iirc I got mine from funky power. Be a waste to get an aftermarket system and put a restrictive cat onto it.

Will still require a cat for mot. Ek9 cat is not that restrictive anyway. I used to always swap from cat to de cat for mot's but gave up bothering with de cat as it made F all difference

Other method is to chop up your spoon pipe and weld it up to make the correct size, wouldn't recomend doing that to a spoon b pipe though!

You would have to modify the cat then as well, a uk cat has a 2" flange ( the donut gasket one) unless its uk itr which is 2 1/4" but your manifold is likely to be 2.5"...... Unless its a jdm b16a manifold which may also be 2 1/4 collector

not true, well maybe it is in england. The resonated/baffled decat looks like a normal cat. Could try and fob the tester that its a sports cat.

Here in England you probably wouldn't quite pass the emissions with out the cat anyway

Good call on the bore size! Forgot about that.
So yeah. It's JDM cat or a decat really.

Right thats fine..

after a chat with a few people tonight I have decided to get a de cat.

I will sort the MOT when the time comes. even if it means swapping systems over.

can anyone link me to a de cat that will fit?! *sorry!!* lol
