i am taking my head of my ek9 and was just wondering do i need to change the head bolts and the timing belt? because i am getting it skimmed aswell.

headbolts should be a one time use only. FWIW, I have used my headbolts twice with no problems, but I am not going for a 3rd.

headstuds can be used multiple times.

Depending on your mileage, you may want to consider changing the water pump and oil pump as well. Don't forget the timing belt's tensioner.

^^^what he said ^^^

I always use NEW ARP head bolts when replacing a cylinder head. The bolts are designed to stretch a certain amount when torqued properly. Used bolts are already stretched, and cannot reliably be used. if you don't replace them you could have more problems down the road. I.E. gasket leaks, loss of compression.

well it apart why not get a new timing belt as well
