Drove the 9 into central London today,
Realised what a PIG it is in traffic.
Everytime below 3k rpm I either lift off or apply throttle (no clutch action) the car jerks and kangaroos.
So flipping annoying in traffic.
I feel the engine wobbling back and forth (or it feels that way, got a week old set of hardrace mounts so no issue there).
Are they all this crap low in the revs?
I find it so so tiring in traffic or just trying to cruise about.
It feels crap unless I'm in the mood to drive fast.
Just juddering and jumping.

My idle hangs a bit also, would this be related?
So many issues with this car it's beginning to get me a little pisssed off to say the least.

Without sounding like a knob... Clutch control?

Or something's not right with it?

Try a worm out clutch realease bearing or a a worn clutch, there could be play in your
Clutch springs which is Causeing The clutch to judder, have you got a uprated
Clutch And flywheel btw as that could cause juddering and hard work pulling of.

This ^^^^
I think that most people use their clutch in traffic under 3k rpm, otherwise you will almost certainly bounce around- even if you were in a 1.1 fiesta!
Either that or I've completely misunderstood your post!

Yeah I know what you mean, and easiest conclusion to jump too is that I'm a tool who can't drive.
But I feel I can, I drive other cars/vans/owned other civics and never had the issue.
As far as I know the clutch/flywheel is standard (never had it apart).

So everyone uses there clutch under 3k to smooth jerking?
Really? :/

My EK4 used to clunk and jerk when coming on and off throttle at very slow speed and engine RPM, such as when in traffic. The clutch was replaced with an ITR one and an aftermarket flywheel fitted - clunk all gone :) I can only imagine that the combo of worn release bearing and clutch were causing it. It's now nice and smooth with no bearing noise or jerking when coming on or off throttle :)
I could be imagining the scenario incorrectly, and I know the EK4 is different, but these were the sort of difficulties I encountered when driving in slow traffic.

sounds like it could be clutch mate. does it judder taking off from junctions too?

It sort of does judder,
But I'm not clutching it.
Day I'm driving along 65mph in 5th, let off to slow to 60 it will judder then. However smoothly I let off it will judder, then I'll come back on super smooth an it will again.
I can't lift off, clutch down, get to 60 then feed it back in . .

Ive got the same problem with my b18cr, going from decelerating to neutral throttle makes the car lurch forward, and on neutral throttle its like it cant decide if it wants to acclerate or decelerate, makes you look like a pillock in town.
Also burning alot of oil recently aswell which makes me think it could have something to do with the lambda being carboned up? either that or bad map sensor? Just a thought.

Id put my money on a clutch. Ive just done a job on pug 307 with worn crank seal letting oil get into the bell housing and contaminating the friction plate. It would only judder when pulling away, changing gear and going on the throttle but never backing off. Might have an underlying problem

definite sounds like your back engine mount is worm/f*ckered, when you apply or lift off the throttle can you see the gear stick moving forward and back?

Also, is there a light weight flywheel in the car?

... got a week old set of hardrace mounts so no issue there)...

Pretty sure flywheel is standard.
I keep looking at lighter ones, so may do clutch at same time. . Hmm.
As said its not when I come on/off clutch so friction plate contamination wouldn't effect it.

My car would judder and feel jerky when setting off and although the clutch "felt" fine when pressing etc... But was also slipping at high rev changes. Just stuck a new OEM Honda Clutch and 4.4kg fidanza flywheel in it and it feels so much better, no judders, jerks, feels so light, smooth and nimble incomparison, The new Honda MTF gearbox oil made a nice difference to the slickness of the box too it feels.

Thats were my money is mate :nice:

Do you have an aftermarket plated diff fitted?

the problem is your flywheel. i had the same issue when i swapped my clutch for a 6 puck and a 12 pounds flywheel instead of the 18 pounds stock. Because of less rotating mass the engine can not hold its inertia its simple. check your flywheel if its a lighter one. pretty sure that is the problem. good luck

Not a car to do stop start driving, how long have you been driving?

Pull the starter motor out see if you can see if you have a light weight flywheel,
I had a similar problem when my timing was out when i first got the car

Been driving five years,
The car came into the country 100% standard so I doubt there is a light flywheel.
Probably just me being useless by the sounds of it.

It's not when your clutching it, it's as you come on and off the throttle.
Even slowing down as you come to a lower speed, come back on the throttle you get this jerking/rocking feeling (like worn engine mounts, but these have been replaced).

Hard to say its a problem without driving another one I suppose.
