Hello there,

After leaving world of Honda's, I decided to get back. I sold my Audi ( Diesel) and got back to the brotherhood of the H!
I was looking for and EK3 Hatch, but could not find one in good shape at a good price.
So, bought an EJ9 Pre-Facelift with 209.323KM. It needs maintenance ASAP!

It's not a Type R or something like that, so it might not please some of you. But giving my circumstances, I could not buy something better.

For now I need tho fix these points:

- License plate lights blown -> Done
- Right CV Joints (I think thats the name) -> To do
- Paint and polish headlights (EK9 them!) -> To do
- Noise coming from the rear suspension passenger side -> To do
- Warped discs -> To do
- Drivers fender liner missing! ->To do

Some of the stuff is already ordered. Playing the waiting game now...

How I bought it:

Car will be washed, clayed, sealed and waxed when the weather gets better! ;)

Cleaning

Started by changing the blown lightbulbs. Since the license plate light "housing" was out I gave it a clean:

Much better! :))

No pics of the interior, because right after I parked it at the garage, the dismantle process began!
Interiors out!

Interior was disgusting!

Don't use Cockpit Spray. The hole car is covered in this sticky spray, and to remove it is a pain in the ass! All Purpose Cleaner and 1Z Car Star where used (successfully!).

Still in the process of vacuuming and dusting.
Apparently my car has rear speaker installation from factory. Sweet!
It's weird because my cousins Facelift EJ9 didn't...
I would much rather have the low fuel light tough.

The purpose of this "project" is to restore some parts, modify others and upgrade stuff that's neccessarry.
OEM+ sort of.

I'll keep you guy's posted.

Cheers!

Sorry for my English. I'm really rusty!!!

Hello,

Updates!

Cleanup Part. 2

After a quick vacuum, the interior looked a lot better!

Remember how the plastics looked? After a lot of APC and 1z Car Star it now looks like this.

Much better! I'm storing the rest of the interior at home.
I'm gonna keep tearing down the interior. That carpet has seen better days... I'm thinking of changing it for the EK4 black one, because I don't like light interiors.

"Soundproofing"

I wanted to improve the Civic's soundproof, because the stock one is poor..
I had some "acoustic foams" laying around from a precious project and decided to put it in the car. Hope it gets better.

Was able to put 2,5 foams in there.

- FUCHS Titan CFE 10W40 oil
- DOT4 ATE 1L brake fluid ( For the clutch pedal, the rest is for the brakes)
- NGK Spark plugs
- BluePrint oil filter
- BluePrint fuel filter
- BluePrint cabin filter
- ATF power steering fluid
- Clutch master cylinder
- Clutch slave cylinder
- Radiator fluid ( several so I can flush the system)

Sadly the car ran with tap water... The result:

This sucks... :(

Started by taking the radiator and the reservoir apart.

Who would've thought that the radiator fan was white? ( It was filthy!)

Changed the clutch master and slave cylinder, because the the master one decided to die that day.
At least it chose the right day!
Old fluid out!

The oil filter wasn't the right one...
lqJLjAq.jpg

The fuel filter was still the stock (from factory) one! It was a pain in the ass to get it out!!

Clearly it was doing a great job:

After this I changed the spark plugs, but sadly while trying to take one out this happened (noob):
r1CgTox.jpg

The previous owner/owner's mechanic tightened it with brute force, and to take out wasn't easy.

Now waiting for the Timing kit, brake disks and pads, and some bits and bobs.. ( The valves will be adjusted when the Timing kit is fitted. Probably the valves where never adjusted...)

Today was raining, so I took the car for a ride to check for leaks.

I'm getting water from here:

OkAePFW.jpg

Probably from the antena?

Since it's very, very, very expensive to have legal window tints on a car ( almost 600€ and a MOT where they check the car from top to bottom!) I decided to fit some electrostatic window tints.

Not bad, I think:

More stuff to come soon.

Cheers!

Thanks guys!

Still waiting for my mechanic to change the timing belt...
I took the antena cover out and didn't see anything rusty or anything. I assume that the leak must come from the sunroof. Hope it's not a pain in the ass to fix it.

Thanks Banana!

My mechanic/cousin is still very busy, so still waiting for him to change the timing belt.. Sad panda is sad.
Too bad I can't change it..

Cheers!

looks good man , just realissed ive never changed the cabin filter , nearly hitting 100,000 miles so that will be ordered now ! along with valve adjustment

Family mechanics are always busy! ! But cry poverty! !LOL

Looks like a nice fresh shell to start with! Good work on the cleaning up its something i never do but really should lol

Thanks! The cabin filter on mine was filthy and full of leafs! Also something that sometimes is forgotten is the fuel filter.
My D14 definitely needs an valve adjustment, It sounds like my grandparents old clock when it's idling and a Diesel Peugeot when cruising!

Right! Once I waited 4 months for him!

The previous owner was a smoker so the car was really needing a cleaning. And I love to take things apart, so it was easy for me to clean.
Probably in 2 years I'll be leaving my country (probably to a northern Country) and if I take my Civic with me, it'll be a nice shell for a B20 swap or something like that! :x:

Cheers Guys!

WITP6hK.jpg

The old one as looking like $h*t

After taking the old engine out, I took a few days to:
- Degreased, cleaned and waxed the engine bay
- Swapped the hoses that go to the heater box ( old ones where all rusty and crunchy)
- Removed the rust and painted the battery support
- Removed the rust and painted the A/C and radiator support
- Painted the valve cover to look like OEM B series valve cover ( Did not used VHT)
- Cleaned the windshield washer reservoir and sprayer pumps ( looked disgusting)
- Cleaned the coolant reservoir ( also looked disgusting)
- And a few bits and bobs...
I was so focused that I forgot to take pictures!

After all the hard work, here's the finished product:

o1LVI99.jpg

Soon going to take the car for a mini road trip to get the engine "loose"
