Well I'm not sure if I actually needed to replace this...lol

I got the RS Race Series mounts of the Tuning Factory and they fitted them too for a good price,I'm delighted with the difference it made,I can actually change gear now

Also got the ignition timing done, which is good consideing how bad it was pinking!

Anyway,The torque mountings were gone too,so the car feels much better,I'm going to keep it for a while longer now and get a few more goodies down the line for it:)

That mount was in bad shape, where was it removed from is it one of the front lower mounts?

How did they go about adjusting your ignition timing, was it at the distributor and how did you know it was pinking?

As far as I know the ignition timing is set by what degrees angle the distributor is at.

so ur not using the lower mounts

No I meant they were split too,I got them 5 mounts replaced,so there are new lower torque mounts, mount at the T belt and top of the gearbox, and the rear one on the subframe in the pic!

I knew the car was pinking because in 3rd/4th at low revs,if you went even halfway on the throttle you hear a horrible 'pinking' noise(I cant describe it,but if you had it you'd know!)

He moved the distributor and used a timing gun to set it up,I dont have the spec to set it to so I let the pros do it:))

Did the company that fitted your mounts also supply the new ones?

If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for mounts and labour?

Bloody hell they sure needed changing lol. What ems are you using ? You wernt thrashing the car or putting it under full load when it was knocking where you ? I ask this because thats when your cylinder pressure is at it highest point (under full load) knock can cause serious damage there.

the race series stuff is good stuff.i gots the rose jointed camber arms of andy and they were much easier to set up than most brands. he has a set of mounts held for me up there, hope there good:woot:

You're welcome to them Blinx:D

I paid 240 euro for the set of mounts and 70 labour(I got a good bit of discount as I went through a site they trade on) for fitting and to get the ignition timing done, which I have no problem paying, its not much when you consider the grief of that rear mounting!!

@Rich777, I only ever got pinking under heavy load, and to be honest I dont drive the car hard,I know the damage it causes so I had to get it done asap!

They are not that bad,40% stiffer, you dont notice the vibration to be fair! They arent polybushes or filled,I would recommend these, the car feels great

If you PM Andy from Tuning Factory on Torque-IRL he'll give you a few quid off,he's bang on to deal with

Race Series have a few nice bits for the EK9,might get the trailing arm bushes next...

Here's a list of some of their stuff:nice:
