In a s4c ek9 gearbox stock or with after market lsd, what oil will you guys use or whats the best oil to use?

For stock honda mtf, with aftermarket diff go with what the manufacture recommends

I use this stuff

Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80

Recommended by Opie oils.

I use Torco MTF which was recommended by Mfactory as I have their 4.9 FD, bearings and synchros.

Range Rover dealer MTF 94 about £15 5 litres. It's in my 9 change it after 3 trackday works well... With spoon lsd

there is no correct asnwer to this, lot of research needed then trial and error with oils and blending etc, certain diffs vary in oils they prefer etc and oil good for diff always conflicts with whats good for honda box

was in similar position myself and asked for info from mfactory, spoon , couple guys who build honda boxes for living, friend also with vast experience of honda boxes/oils etc and opies oils

not 1 can give definate answer and many wont actually recommend a specific oil, just hint at what they have used or would recommend "trying" but no gurantee etc

once you look into it it will make more sense why there isnt a specific answer

also remember many oils are for race use, these are not good in daily driven cars

well said iceman,

but the key thing to remember is these transmissions were designed to use 10W30 weight engine oil.

Anything thicker than this can cause troubles.

MFactory Competition Products - Forged Transmission Components

It is true that many professional teams out there have gotten away with using gear oil instead of a transmission fluid, but as iceman stated, those are race applications which generate A LOT more heat than what most of us will ever see...
