Try at some motor factors store, a b16a distributor set me back £101 new.

What the he'll you can sort it for about 80 pound cuz 70 for alternator and 10 pound labour and you sorted its a very easy job to do your self any ways

lol no way, £100 new max. For £500 you could get an MSD billet job imported from the states!

hi mate, try sim auto, jap service parts or hendy performance, they all sell oem parts and are cheaper than honda.

yeah mate defo dont pay that price just shop about will get one much cheaper, glad you found out the problem though! :nice:

what exactly is up with your distributor? Can rebuild one with all OEM parts for £250 with new

coil
ignition amplifier
dizzy cap
rotor arm

I would be very surprised if there was anything above and beyond that broken

Cheap non oem dizzys are generally cheap for a reason, one area of the car that justifies the oem price tag imo

there is instructions in the workshop manual for testing the coil / amplifier so you can pin point what part is worn / dud. bit amateur turning round saying a new complete distributor is needed.....

So many garages these days dont want to help they just want to fit a poor quality replacement parts and take your honda part in exchange do what the man says and have yours checked and replace whatever it needs the body of the dizzy will be fine

Just did mine myself...my coil was fried due to my actions under the hood.

Anywho easy to rebuild it if you have 30 minutes. Not too sure if I would ever buy a new one as the parts are available online for low cost.
