Flywheel?? Much difference?

best flywheel with stock clutch? I like Fidanza for its price and weight. Lots of reputable online retailers.

Your clutch will likely have another 100k in it, so I wouldn't be so quick to change it unless you were looking for something more aggressive.

mine has done 75,000 miles........... maybe i won't bother with the clutch either.

at 75,000miles... I would change it... but there are those who are really easy on their gear, the best way to know is to measure the thickness of the disc and go from there.

Me personally, I like the feel of the Exedy 3 puck thick disc. Daily driven it is only slightly tougher after the initial 500mile break-in (during the break-in period, you'll seriously wonder it was a bad idea)

The lighter disc makes for a very quick and satisfying engagement that very few if any full face disc can match at WOT.

This was the set i was seriously considering but the EXTREMLY light flywheel scared me a bit. I've herd you lose out on torque and accelration in higher gears.

That's a really good package deal price.

Don't be taken by the "3 blind mice" syndrome where you lose torque and acceleration. You will be applying a final drive as well so any supposed perceived torque loss will be completely mitigated.

Real world fast is a strange thing. My DC2-R has never gone any faster than a 14.338 but vs. a 6th gen hatch with full I/H/E + hondata (he went 14.001) from 2nd gear to the top of 4th, I take him handily. My only mods at the time was an AEM intake, decat, 4.785 final, alum. flywheel and clutch.

in short, I had more usable power where it counted the most...and I echo'd this once more when I ran a 6th gen coupe that gone 13.7x uphill and still managed to take him from 2nd to 4th. Torque multiplication from the final drive and the ability to accelerate quickly with a low mass flywheel is a very good thing.

Very interesting. I'm on bench with the final drive and may still be somethiong i drop from my wish list. I think i might get that kit though......

in my experience, drivetrain mods are real world faster than a mild cam/compression upgrade.

I would personally always choose them over engine work if you are interested in going fast that is.

I do understand that but the cost of fitting it is huge.:nono:

I would be better off fitting a B18C. Cost wise but on the other hand don't want to give up my engine

I have a toda one in my b18c, and I love it :)
