Ok as most know I have never been happy that my car is not at its full (safe) potential. The car is vastly limited from 8k onwards and I feel it should have more.

My current spec below and plans for new parts below that.

My thinking is this, manifold is too restrictive time for a change, current exhaust is too loud limiting track use (never thought I'd say that) internal ID of AEM V2 is 68mm reducing the air volume into the intake and reducing any velocity by slowing down into the 72mm.

Current spec

JDM B18C-R 13.2:1 CR built with

Wiseco Semi-Coated Slipper Style racing pistons
IBspec RODS
TODA Spec C Cams
SUPERTECH B-Series competition valve-springs and retainers
Viton stem seals
A1Tech headstuds
Bosch Injector Dynamics 725cc ultimate injectors
Hondata S300 ECU
AEM True time cam gears

Mugen 4-2-1 manifold (modified)
Thermotec cool it heat wrap
Skunk2 gen2 Intake manifold (Port matched to 72mm)
BDL 72mm throttle body
AEM V2 induction kit
Spoon N1 style Custom made exhaust system ID 2.5"

My opinion is...Save yourself some cash and fit a larger rear silencer to your current system (although tanabe is a great exhaust), I would go with the tegiwa 4-2-1 over the skunk2 all day long. The resonated decat might make your current system as quiet as you need as they make a big difference over test pipes!

There has got to be a better way of spending 1300 nicker. Rmf exhaust manifold? Hytech?

A trip to Alan at Solid Fab? He could make up a track friendly power wielding exhaust, all those Jap systems are only 60mm and way overpriced, he could also knock up an intake system to suit. As for the header...that's a minefield.

Why do you need more than 8k? Gearing mods?

What bhp/torque are you making at the moment Ian?

Manifold
Exhaust
Intake

I'd get it all done from solid fab. He did me a super quiet 3" bore manifold back system for my k20 teg that peaked at 93db and a custom intake to mount the filter where I required

He also did the 3" system on my rotrex ek9 and that made a massive difference in power

On the header front, i'd be more inclined to get a TRI-Y header with big primaries and atleast a 2.5' collector.

Exhaust wise visit solidfab like mentioned above, he can tailor an exhaust to your requirements.

Oh and for intake system, don't waste your money and get yourself a DC2 box with CAI!!

Ring up eurospec and speak to Romain, he'll put you right.

I wouldent spend any money before talking to someone experienced in working with the b-series Ian...I know it's stating the obvious but still :p

If yr spending. That sort of money I would try simpons exhaust in slough hand made stuff

Tegiwa is the same design as my Mugen I need a Tri Y style header so hence the skunk 2 alpha it has great clearance and is a Tri Y style header.

I thought u had given up on this

So did I, I keep think about scrapping the 9 and EP and getting either a DC5 or FD2 or even a S2000....

I agree but I will get money back by selling my intake and exhaust system.

Sounds good, I have been down this road already which gained me nothing except minus £1000.

I don't need more than 8k I have a 4.785 fd. But the point is I have an engine that I spent a lot on that is being limited and I have never been happy about it. My set up should make power up to 9k no probs!

Current power is 190-200whp

No idea of torque...

Looks very nice.... But the real problem is the manifold and potentially the intake. Changing my exhaust changed nothing.

DC2 box wouldn't work with my setup I need atleast a 72mm internal dia.

(Not herd very good things about Romain)

Tried that and look where that landed me, 8k out if pocket. And engine that still smokes/burn oil and only make a fraction of the claimed power.

Yeah I think this may be worth perusing.

I had not read your spec properly Ian, thought you just had a Spoon N1. I would take it to SRR or Eurospec and get a readout, it may give you some pointers. With that spec a 3" system may be good but probably not worth it for the gain, but it is worth getting a larger silencer installed as this would get you track friendly?
If you have the internals you have stated, you could try a remap to start? I believe Romain mapped the TGM FD2 - just completed the 24hr race in Barcelona, I know he does the race cars usually, never any issues. Tom is worth a call also if you had not already, he built Hanfords Bseries among others, that thing is a rocket.
Or maybe you fancy a Kswap? :naughty:

RDNA-Race DNA, Perrymoo if he is still on here, he'll sort it. Most honest guy in Tunning i know. Along with his colleauge Paul it's insane what they can do.

This.

Throwing a load of money at it in the form of a load of mismatched parts isn't going to work. Get someone who know's what they are doing on the case.

Heard lots of good stuff about perrymoo.

Also, look into Hayward and scott for custom exhausts, quality is second to none.

Rmf manifold is really good!
Custom intake would be much better to suit your TB as you can also choose length so will decide on low, mid, or high end power
and as for the exhaust just swap the box out for a bigger one or add a little one?
What about a diff and some gears?

Have you thought about ITB surly that would make some that high rev power

A 68mm throttle body would be more suited to your engine spec, 72mm is too big. You would benefit from going with a 3" catback or at least 2.75". As for exhaust manifold, big tube hytech if your looking to extend your power band(gain more top end power) or Toda/Toda rep for best over all power band. For intake I would recommend 3" arm with a velocity stack filter, you will have to play around with different length piping to find what works best.
