final drive difference

the higher the number the shorter the final drive. 4.4 isnt as short as 4.7,4.9 is the shortest id go for road/track

I would just go for a 5.1FD, shorter than OEm, and only about 500RPM different (higher rev)

what i ment is how can u tell the difference physically like if i go to buy one from someone how can i tell the difference machanically

Number count of the teeth. Idk what they are but the have to be different to be different ratios.

I know the FSM will have the count on it but when you see it just count the teeth and divide the ring/crown number by the pinion number.
