Recently installed this with the new release bearing supplied.I was there with the mechanic fitting it and i myself made sure all the shafts were properly greased. It has been about 1500km`s since i fitted it and now the release bearing has started to squeek the whole time. It doesnt rattle but you can clearly here it makeing this weird noise when drivein along and if you barely rest your foot on the peddle it will disappear..Also it myt just be in my head but when i first drove it the clutch would bite real early.(like a cm or so from the floor),now its bak up half way like it used to be before my old clutch went.It couldnt have worn down soo much already could it.I have only givin it about 20 mins of serious abuse since i got it.Quite baffled here and help appreciated.:(

first off organic clutches do not last too long, about the release bearing i am having the same issue with a different clutch but its a much louder grinding noise :(

Yeah next time i too do a clutch job i will only use an OEM or NACHI release bearing.

iv a genuine exedy stg one organic and 4kg light fly ..
i used ek9 bearing..

clutch bites a bit high up the pedel for my liking but the bite is savage!

realy good clutch:bow:

i had that squeak a few weeks after fitting an exedy 3 puck stage 2 few years ago had the clutch in the civic for about 2yrs before it **** it's self but

when you says mechanic greased the shafts, do you mean he greased the shaft where the release bearing sits?
If that is the case, grease on the shaft collects the dust from the clutch which then later on causes the bearing to squek and make the noise

i run the same clutch done about 3000 miles on it now i fitted a honda bearing and have no problems yet. i do get a bit of judder of it sometimes on take off but nothin i cant put up with its only if you dont get the revs right

From experience I bin any release bearing supplied in a aftermarket clutch kit and use a OEM honda one. Yet to hear a complaint about noisy release bearings for any clutches I have fitted so I think it speaks for itself. Stick to OEM:nice:

The funny things is that most of the OEM clutches and releasing bearings are made in SACHS as honda itself dont manufacture clutches and bearings, so sometimes you will find that Exedy or some othere tuning company is also selling Sachs bearings but rebranded into their own name.

Yea the spline thing..its said to do it on the lil instruction book that came with the clutch and it was the lil sachet of grease that exeedy supply.

lad the bearings are clearly named not rebranded they use koyo and nachi, for the exedy oe itr clutches anyway, think they are nachi in the stage 1 and 2 clutch kits

In my experience with this and its not just on honda's if you have a whining in the gear box and if you put your foot on the clutch the noise stops its the bearings in the box itself that are at fault not the clutch or release bearing ive seen this happen a good few times.
