Looking much the subject of clutches for everyday use, I have these in mind.
I would like to know experience.

Would be for an EK4, the Exedy is 100% made in Japan and the other option is to mount the kit honda DC2.:naughty:

What do you think is best clutch?

regards

Genuine Honda DC2 clutch unless the car is heavily tuned

I prefer the Exedy stage 1 clutch. Thats what im currently using and has better bite and can take a beating and does not slip. I found the OEM to slip every known again when driving hard for a period of time.... It was more then up for the job though.

I've had both on a B18C - I definately preffered the Exedy for the feel and bite but the torque springs on the clutch disc decided to break out of their location after only around 5-10k miles.

OEM Honda DC2 clutch felt fine - just didnt bite as well and felt a fair bit lighter on the pedal.

Thanks for your replies mates, I knew that there Exedy clutch of very poor quality.
However good they say are those who come from Japan.

My car has 160 hp and 200 hp of DC2 than more weight, that is why I think that even doing something in my Ek as Modified, to be for daily use, the clutch should be fine.

While a good Exedy Japanese must have more bite and so aprobecha better engine performance, better passing wheels

I buy it at a reputable dealer that I know very well and only work with quality, but I have heard of ebay sellers who are not their Exedy JDM.
Exedy you bet then by a knowing that is the original?
Regards

I've an exedy stage 1 in my EM1 and love it.. Great bite and does have a heavy sort of feel to the pedal.. Don't buy off ebay though as said because there are lots of replica scrap clutches on there, hard to tell if you'd be buying a genuine 1!

I always throw away the release bearing in those Exedy kits and use a OEM honda one as the Exedy ones always seem to get noisy after a few weeks

You mean the bearing is useless?

I have heard that if japan is that the stage 1 does not really exist in Japanese is known as organic clutch, and brought this dealer has never been told that the bearings are bad.
The dealer said that to get a good clutch Exedy is necessary to bring it directly from Japan, because in USA, UK, Exedy quality is not the same.

You advise some ebay dealer is 100% reliable?

An Exedy organic (stage1) I get for 300 euros as at home. You think that is a good price?. so I've been watching this right.

Regards

€300 is a decent price to pay for 1 yea.. but definately get a OEM release bearing... I didn't buy an OEM 1 and just used the 1 that came with the clutch. It's now starting to whine and its only in 5000 miles so far!

I just broke my Exedy stage 1 clutch, but I put it though hell and back. A VERY good clutch upgrade over OEM, but FEELS like OEM. Even after I broke it, I was going to put another back in...its that good.

Big thumbs up on this.

:nice:

go with exedy stage 1 with oe honda bearing best for giving it a trashing, Honda integra type r one is good but may slip now and again while given it a going bit of hard driving
