Excessive caster on one side

Hi guys,

Just got my wheel alignment done and the technician told me my passenger side wheel had a little more caster than the driver's side. We did a rough measure and its looking like the left wheel is sitting approx 5-10mm more forward than the left.

The car still lines up good and does not pull to one side.

However I want to square the car up. Now... What is the process of elimimation? What are the most logical process. I'd imagine the subframe will be the last thing to replace?

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Your wishbone might be at fault some times its not visible to the naked eye

Could be a right hand side upper arm on the left or left arm on the right, I'm pretty sure that can alter the castor angle,

Or it could be a damaged wishbone as said above, or it could be the subframe out of alignment, if you loosen all the subframe bolts there will be some adjustment

The upper arms on the EK9 are not as offset as the EG/DC arms so i doubt this will be causing the castor difference

the main bush that controls castor on these is the rear wishbone bush, there is a washer at either side of the bush when fitted and the U clamp that holds the bush to the chassis could be installed incorrectly - take a look

may even be that the lower arms require replacement, 5-10mm is rather alot on the grand scheme of things!

Does the lower arm split like on an EG chassis to adjust caster with shims?

That's how I got mine lined up.

Here is my alignment specs for reference

I had the same problem but I knew my car did some trackdays ...

I had almost 1° caster difference and the right wheel was sitting some mm forward than the other. The car did not behave exactly the same when turning left or right, it was like the supsension felt softer on one side than the other.

I replaced the subframe and used a set of rigid collar. Car behaviour is much better but I still have the caster difference (45" instead of 1° difference).

I'm going to change my front LCAs and to invert my Left and Right camber kits to see what happens. When you exchange your camber kits you get a bit more than 2° caster instead of 1°40".

Has the car ever been crashed and repaired?
Not sure. The car has been tracked, but could have it a pothole?

Anyways, I took the car to my mechanic for a look. He told me the left side (the side where i thought i had a caster problem) is actually within spec and it's the RIGHT hand side which is off.
