EP2 B18c sport

Obvious question is why no K20? can't fault the work though and wanting to be different, nice one:)

The EP2 sport only comes with a 1.6, its not a K20 as far as I am aware. And he did not go K20 because he uses the car in the 1800c series races..as far as I am aware!

Very nice and very different :)

i knw lol. Alot of people do ask that, but like i said it just saved me money to do it this way. And it just so happened to be the only one in the world lol. I would of loved to go k20, but the fab work was abit more extreme. If i done that it would of just been an ep3, and a huge waste of time IMO.

Yes the ep2 came with a 110bhp d16 engine

Thanks for the replys guys!

very nice. must have been some work to get that engine in. very impresed!

I use to own a EP2, love what you done with the swap, what is the gross weight on this? I understand the stock car had 1600kg

lol nooooooo...a Ep3 weighs 1201 kg and a ep2 sport weighs 1149. I think with the perspex windows, lighter wheels/lugs and the bits of carbon i have im coming in at below 1060. My front seats were 29kg each and the back bench and back was 23kg. My original windows alltogether weighed like 48kg alltogether. My new ones combined weigh about 5kg.

Youve oviuosly gota take in to consideration the b18 weighs more than the d16 but if you added it all up it would be alot lighter than standard.

Well done for being different mate!

But I can't understand, I thought the B-series rotates anti-clockwise as opposed to the K-series, which brings to my question;
What gearbox, driveshafts and mountings were used for the conversion?

Thanks, and well done once more :nice:

wow so different nice job :nice:

the enigne is mounted the the other way as the b yes, to the ek9/dc2, hes prob used conversion mounts/fabricated some mounts to fit the b series into the bay so he can use the b series drivetrain just like you would in the ek9
k20 swap???

Absolute quality ride man! Very original  you must catch some saloons napping when you track it? :nice: would love to see it in action

yes it does. But the sport which this car originaly was had a d16 engine which is the same gearbox and engine pattern as a B series.

I havnt raced a dc5, but ive raced a few ep3's and it out accelerates them prety quickly! with the new cams etc it should make easy mince meat of standard ones.

is this the one from civiclife?
if so, easily my fav build on that forum.
very innovative :nice:

Cause more damage than good in an accident. Weaker points to break, also bolt-in's are not FIA appoved.

Bolt in cages are fine for motorsport and are used by thousands of clubman racers. Its only the dash dodgers and show cages that are regarded as dangerous etc

Also, 80% of weld in cages are not FIA approved either. They are fine for MSA events and such like, but to be FIA approved it costs a lot of money to be checked and certified and then its only needed if you wanted to compete in the BTCC, WRC etc etc

That aside, Nice Civic Mister, sure i've seen it somewhere before :D
