So im thinking of buying a B18C ITR engine for my EK9 and one of my friends wants my B16B for his vti eg shape saloon civic. Is the B16B a straight swap into the EG civic? What drive shafts should be used as I assume the hubs are different on the 4stud vti's than my EK9. Are the wiring looms the same?. And for the B18C swap into mine is it straight forward plug and play with the wiring loom and are the engine mounts the same etc.
 
The engine mounts will have to be swapped between the 16A and the 16B because of the different chassis.

Your friend will have to run an OBD1 to OBD2 conversion harness to use the PCT ecu.

Axles will fit with no problems.

Is it just a case of bolting off my engine mounts and bolting them in to his vti?
 
it's a case of using the his engine mounts on the 16B or he can use the engine mounts off the 18C (if they come with them). As far as I am aware, 18Cs were never available for the 6th gen chassis :)
 
Any info on the wiring for the B18C into my pre-facelift EK9. Is the wiring harness the same?

do u no where to get them conversion harnesses???im thinkin of puttin a b18c into my eg sir:nice:thanks
 
Is the engine number different on the 98spec ITR engine than the 96spec?
 
Should Fit In Just Right I Mean I Have A Si In My 98 Itr Motor Fell In Just In Place....
 
What kind of money should I need to spend to get a 98spec ITR engine? also how much is my own engine worth it has 55k miles on it and has been well minded still looks like brand new
 
Is there really much of a difference in power between the b16b and b18c?
 
b16b engine & ecu without the box is worth about €1800-2k in Ireland;)
 
Guys am I correct in thinking the 98spec ITR engine should have a carbon fiber spark plug cover? Was looking at a engine which is suppose to be a 98spec but it had the same cover as the 96spec. Anyway of telling the two engines apart? I was set on a 98spec engine but is the 96spec just as good? As the 96 is cheaper
