engine prob....help!

Right so basically the car doesnt feel like its pulling properly and then at times when u accelerate even gently it kinda splutters and feels dead!
Then on my way to college today it spluttered like above for a few secs and then cut out....it did this twice! I thought it could be somet to wit the ecu...
Can anyone shed any light on whats wrong????

when was last time you changed spark plugs? Probably spark related so check plugs,leads and dizzy.

yea i was thinking that aswel as the plugs havnt been changed in a while! would that cause the spluttering tho?
someone told me maybe to change the fuel filter aswel as it could be clogged or that?

yea the engine light comes on just before it cuts out.....

If you know how to...you can get a cel code that'll tell you whats wrong
There is a few threads about the cel codes etc....its not to difficult and will tell you whats up.

it does sound, Dizzy/Spark plug related

oh rite ok im only learning about different things at the minute so dont know how to check that but ill try....does it make any difference if the ecu is an aftermarket one?

depending on ecu it can make a difference...what are you running?

But if you don't know what your doing it is probably best to get a friend or garage to do it fot you

its mapped on a power fc.....yea i read that alri and it looks simple enough!
doing it wont make a difference to the ecu or change the map or anything wil it??

does the engine light have to be on jus before i check it?? because its not on all de time jus when it gets real bad if you get me...

No doesnt have to be depending on the code, try anyways! Also pull the plugs and check them , may give you a better indication of whats happening.

with some codes, there stored in your ecu and dont necessarily need the light on to be checked. if the light is out check it anyway, you will more than likely have a code blink up anyway.
