Hey guys!

These days my EK9 rims aren`t as white a they used to be and I was wondering about painting them with simple spray paint.
Of course I will wait for a sunny couple days, give them a good clean, tape them up to cover what I don`t want paint to be on and go at it!

I feel like it`ll be pretty simple to do, but I often think this and start only to realize it`s nothing like I thought. Has anyone had any experience doing something like this?

Spray can wont hold.
Before you know it, it will start to peel off and looking more ugly than how they used to be..
Have you consider Powder coating ?

If I was still in Canada I would do that for sure. But because I`m in Japan I don`t really have the connections to get that done at the best price.. Maybe the can paint will hold for a couple months.

After your done painting pop them in your oven one at a time to cure properly. As said painting is 80% prep ,
Just make sure you rub down well and clean before each coat .after undercoat rub down with 2000 grit or 1500 for good key .

How big is your oven

You don't need to close door then lol .
Even if you put them in front it will be ok ,
As long as the temperature is transferred to the rim .

Lol if it dont fit take them to your local pizza hut

Ha I'd say they would let you an all if you slipped him a few bob lol.
Little business on the side , why is there bronze flake on my pizza? Lol

I wouldn't mind some advice on this too I'm looking at getting mine sand blasted and base coated and cleared again. I believe that is how they are done from the factory. are they not?

Rattle can will hold up fine. Mine lasted well over a year and I don't think I did the prep work well enough.

I rattle canned a set of wheels couple of summers ago and lasted wheel over a year without a chip in them. As said all depends on the prep you do beforehand.

Im having mine resprayed hopefully this week if i can get a hold of the guy Ill post pictures in my build thread when I get them back
