Hi guys, by reading Honda ek9 Specs (and by watching drive test videos from "Best Motoring") i acknowledge the top speed allowed in Japan is around 180 - 190 Km/h, i have also seen is some video test an announce like "Speed governor limit removed for this test"; So my question is: are our JDM ek9 cars limited in top speed?, if so, is there a way to un-limit it?.

Thanks
Enrique

they are limited to 180 kmh,,

you can remove it with aftermarkey ecu, HKS SLD or a mph conversion chip fitted to eth transmission side of teh ecu

as olly said :)

cheapest is just to get a convertor/delimiter, should top out at 145 ish then. or have i read the wrong specs?

i do kind of agree with you..its not the fastest car at top end so whats the point. stick to the twistys and keep it limited :)

yeah agree hence the 4.9 final drive ain`t gonna bother me top end, how offen do you go 130+ anywayz. I personaly think its acceleration and handling that matters:nice:

I think there's more possible than 210km/h?
What a luck, that we still have no speedlimit on german highways ... but some scary voice whisteled to me that that could be finished in some years :secret:

Even i fthe police would check your car, I think they would not find that hks thing nor?

It wouldn't matter if the police did find it (and have the faintest idea what it did). There is no law limiting the top speed of a car in the UK (or Europe I believe).

And even in Japan, traffic policing seems quite relaxed from what I've seen and read.

Cheers,
Alex

if, like you said, honda pulled off the speed limiter to check the top speed... they must have posted those results, just make a quick research

would only take off the limiter if the car was pretty hevily modded n/a or forced induction

yup they top out at 145ish mph but once they fill the clock they dont pull half as hard as they do before the 180kph....its more fun to drive on the twisties tho givin it loads of 2nd 3rd an 4th gear vtec :D

RVM, is that the check engine light? what did you do to use it as a shift light?

when you have a ecu with ship you can have something like that or drag lauch..no speed limit

me with my specR i attemps 230km/h but i was not at my top speed lol
in quebec we can't not execede 100km/h on road:nono:

Agreed, circuit > drag... more techinques, strategies etc... its not only top speed but brain as well imo
