Hi folks i've just fitted an ek9 engine to my jordan. i have a p28 ecu with hondata and a convesion harness fitted. Tried to start it tonight but the fuel pump is not priming up. The engine turns over ok but with no fuel getting there will not fire up. Does any one have any ideas?

Check your main relay is plugged in (guess it would be but if you've been at the loom you may have unplugged it by chance).

On eg's it is near the bonnet release - sure its in the same place on ek's too.

Check your earths.

Check that the conversion loom you're running is correct - follow a pinout diagram to make sure the wires corresponding to the fuel pump/main relay are going to the correct pins on the new ecu?

other than that, not sure what to try.

Have been trying to sort it out this morning and noticed that there are 3 ecu connections on my ek9 engine wiring loom. My vti engine only had 2 ecu connections on the engine wiring loom. the third connection on the vti is part of the dash wiring loom. When all 3 of the ek9 engine ecu connections are fitted the ecu powers up but there is no engine management light coming on the dash and fuel pump does not prime. When i fit the vti dash connection the engine management light comes on but still no fuel pump priming up and no power to the ecu.

i have attched some pics to try and show what i mean.

i have looked at the the engine swap guides but no help. Hopefully someone else has had this problem and managed to resolve it.

UPDATE:

I have earthed the ecu pin for the fuel relay and now have the pump working but the engine just keeps turning over and will not fire up.

Any one have any ideas?

are you gettin spark ???

Yeah getting fuel and spark but still no luck. I don't have the engine management light coming on when I turn the ignition on so thinking it might have something to do with that. Also getting told I might be better off getting a obd2b loom for the engine. Anyone able to confirm this?

Yea dude you've got the wrong engine loom if your car is 99 on, you need a ob2b engine loom which has two ecu plugs and a green dash plug. The loom you used is a 0bd2a which has 3 ecu plugs and a green dash plug the pinouts are different hence you have no power to the fuel pump. give me a call if you need a loom 02890 486680

Latest update. I have fitted the obd2b wiring loom to the b16b engine. I have a conversion harness to a p28 Ecu with Hondata. Tried to start car last night. Was throwing up a error code saying intake air temp sensor. After some looking on the forums I found that I needed to swap the wiring from induction kit feed arm to the sensor on inlet manifold. After doing this I tried to start car again but this time it came up with 2 error codes, knock sensor and atmospheric pressure.

Latest update:

Have spent a few hours on the car tonight. i have managed to clear the knock sensor and atmospheric pressure errors. i am now getting a error code saying fuel injectors

If you have fuel and spark there is no reason not to start mate

Yeah John the joys of modern engines. I have fitted a dizzy from a b16a2 which had obd2b set up. I'm thinking this may be the problem. The engine I have fitted was running obd2a.
