EK9 Civic Type R-HKS Tuned

SHes a minted car, what would put me off is the fact it has the big turbo kit on but still has stock suspension/brakes.. Also running stock internals.. Obviously the way its running it isnt anywhere near to its full potential, but if the new owner did, which would be daft not to, then I would say you would need to spend another £4k+ to do following:-

Forge rebuild
Sleeve the block
Good aftermarket ecu Inc re-map
coilovers
big brakes (At least uprated pads/discs)

Seems weird to have came in from Japan somewhat a stock car with a big turbo kit on which to me would have to ask ques as we all know tghe japs dont do things in half measures..

What sort of documentation comes with the car?

Whats your rock bottom price?

The Japs do do things properly, but this car isnt meant to be a drag car or a huge horsepower machine, its target with the tune has been acclomplished. Anybody who drives the car can vouch that at this current tune, the brakes do a good job, as does the suspension...but obviously if you wanted to tune it further, you can.

When modifying any car, we can all say "this needs to be done" and "that needs to be done to make it a good car" but its all a matter of opinion and what your personal aim for the car is.

It's not a stock car with a big turbo kit on, its a stock car with a small turbo, only running 0.35bar, which gives it an excellent drive with plenty more torque and a "feel good" factor. The mods you have listed above would be for somebody wanting to create a high power monster EK9, which is all fine, but not everybody wants that...actually this seems to be too modified for most already.

As you have stated, to get to a similar tune to the "quickest EK9 in the UK", you would need a further £4k+, lets even say £6k, that would equate to £13,800....which is A LOT less than the £20k spent on the other EK9 to get there. This is good value for money as it is and the price has already been dropped from £8250, which was a good deal then, if you are serious, come to view the car and we can negotiate then if you like, or you may not feel the need as it you will realise how good value for money it is.

Documentation: Auction sheet, MOT, V5, Service information (doesnt use the same oil and plugs), spec list (currently on my site and here anyway)

wow, it be nice to do some research before you speak, that is in no way a big turbo kit, in fact its the opposite, that is a very small turbo kit. and its perfectly matched to the car in its current state. the only thing you would need to do if you wanted more power would be to turn up the boost and retuned with high grade fuel, if high grade fuel is not available then a thicker head gasket will help. stock b series engines are good up to 400bhp. im currently making 380bhp with a much larger turbo with no problems at all and thats with crap 91 octane gas.

I aint dissing the car, just wanting an opinion on the car.. As said already its a lot of a car for the money, and I am a bit miffed as to why no-one has bought it yet..

Is the car the way it sits the way it came from Japan? I tried doing a search via google about the r-spec chip, which seems to be a uk brand which do the r-spec bleed valves etc and couldnt see anything on the civic ek9, unless theres a sort of unichip version?? Has it been mapped for uk fuel?? Has it been on the RR for a general engine look over to make sure there no det and everything is running ok?

its cause people are scared by the rumors that turbo cars are not reliable, and a lot of people think Ek9 should be kept as close to stock as possible which is complete BS in my opinion. as far as your question about detination, there is none, with 10.8 compression if it was detonating it would have blown up after 1 drive, and i believe ive seen SB say he has driven it a few times already for potential buyers.

No Blinx, I have driven the car for my own pleasure quite a few times, only 1 person has come to view the car and wants me to hold onto it for him, but he is currently awaiting a court case regarding a claim on his previous car, expecting a few grand from it, to pay for this EK9.
The rest, I think you have spot on!

scottishcruiser, just wondering if you are the same person who has been contacting me all week VIA several methods? Just that I have had a Scottish lad ring to ask the same questions you have, then I received emails asking the same questions, also texts asking the exact same questions and now on here, so just curious if I am needlessly answering the same questions and giving the same answers to the same person...I dont mind the questions, but just feel its a bit of a time waste.

It is not running an aftermarket ECU, it has a modified standard one, as stated in the car spec (I have told the scottish fellow this too).

You will find that most questions have already been answered in this thread itself, hence the 5 pages....just have a read mate.

Blinx, Thanks for being so helpful, it saves me a lot of time answering questions and you do such a good job of it yourself. Im not as good at putting things into words as you are too, lol.

SB this is my only method of communication to you, although you may have other interested parties as I have seen LINKS of your EK9 on other CAR ENTHUSIAST forums hence why you are probably getting mail/txts/calls etc.. It was brought to our attention that your website had tidy cars for sale and sold cars, which we cant argue about, also that you were at a meet in Bradford in your 500hp R32 last week?? Anyways we came across the EK9 and had a few discussions on the mods, the way it was modded and why everyone wishes they could have it but no-one has actually came to see it or bought it yet.. It was just personal opinions..

Thats cool mate, probably just a coincidence...Ive had plenty of calls/mails/texts etc for this car ever since its been for sale, but just thought id ask seeing as they were the exact same questions asked in one week, lol.

Thats right, I was asked to take the car by a friend...Im known by quite a few people for selling some of the tidiest cars around, even though some are highly modified, its considered hard to find both in one car, but I do, there is a price tag for such cars though.

People say they want to buy it, but as Blinx said, are scared or horror stories of turbo cars...which are just bollox stories:angry2:

Anyway, show me of the links, I like to see what people say...:D

Check the starlet forum, few bradford lads from there, do you know of sham and akki??? both into there imports... Thjeres link of on the civic type r forum too.. thats all i know of. i hope you do get it sold trhough, tis a nice mint motor...

I may know Akki and Sham, I would have to see them to know really as they are common names and I have a bad memory too, lol.

Which starlet forum, I thought there were loads of them...is it TGTT you mean? Also, which Civic Type R forum?

Thanks for the compliments mate.
