Just wondering if i brought a b16b bottom end and put it onto my b16a top end will it have the same preformance of an ek9??

thanks

if you want type R perfrmance then you ideally want type r head, cams and in / exhaust manifolds,

im buying skunk 2 cams and mangement system soon anyway so just wondering if i would see any gains from a bottom end??

Not really no. It has slightly higher compression and the longer rod/stroke ratio will give it slightly different breathing characterstics, but essentially you are swapping one 1600cc lump for another.

cams and a b16b bottom end and youll be making power in the region of a whole b16b engine, youd be better putting high comp pistons in your b16a it would be cheaper

IIRC the B16b uses a ported version of the B16A head with different cams, retainers etc. Different intake mani, tb. So no, you will not make the same power.
