ive just had a dyno run and it reads 153bhp at the flywheel.its got 4.2.1 header, backbox, filter.also 18" alloys.ive been told the fuel in this country is much richer then to japanese fuel so it will need a re-map because of it running far 2 rich.looking at the dyno print out its all over the place and just before and duing vtec its all over the place.need help

hmmm that is low for an ek9 like!, you checked the compression on each cylinder? were there any more cars on the dyno after yours that got a low result? does it still pull like an ek9 should?

there was a ep3 199bhp.he had exhurst,filter.106 gti 106bhp.he did not ask about gearing or nothing.he sed it over fueled just b4 vtec.i get black bits all over the back of my car.mabie that a sighn.dont feell that fast.1.8 16v clio pulls fast past me.wat u think

post pics of your dyno graph and a/f chart if you can. the 18" wheels dont help either but a lot of black smoke out the back can be an indication of running rich, have you checked your plugs to make sure there not fouled?

Defo got problems mate if a clio 16v 1.8 can pull away from you ,even my vti was quicker than a clio 16v ,152 bhp is very low for an ek9

get rid of the 18" wheels, it makes your final gear ratio taller making the engine work harder to roll it, stick to the 15" wheels. replace your plugs if they are still the original ones, what intake you have on?

i had the standard filter on.

thats not correct! octane is different but re map is not required.
check plugs, distributer cap, rotary arm, check ht leads in the dark are not arcing out(lighting up blue around leads)
oil been changed ??

this may sound stupid but is the engine code def b16b? did the car used to be quick and just got worse? try giving the engine a good service and said above with smaller wheels, try an aftermarket pannel filter..if the engine is running rich before vtec....has the ecu been chipped or an ebay chip plugged into the ecu....

i will check pugs.distributer cap i dont know how to cheak it.i dont even know where the rotary arm is?its got aftermacket leads but the original ones come with it.oil is clean from what i can see.30bhp is alot to loose.it must be somthing big cheers

rotary arm is inside the distributor cap,
start by checking plugs, and put up pictures of them if unsure, also as blinx said,- post pictures of your dyno graph and any other info given to you by the dyno tuner (a/f/r graph)

oh also is your eml(engine check) on by any chance?

the car has had lack in power since it came into this country.spark plugs are white ontop.thay are iridium plugs.gap looks fairly large on them.my eml light aint on.i dont know if its been chipped, rotary arm looks abit worn.will try and get the dyno graph on here soon

most people do a full tune up when they import a car, that means:

-new distributor cap
-new distributor rotor
-new spark plug wires
-new spark plugs
-new cam belt
-new water pump
-new tensioner
-new idler pulley
-new intake filter
-new fuel filter
-new oil filter
-new oil

I would also give the g-oil a change.

Check the cam timing as it may be out a tooth. They usually get just a few bhp below Honda figures so something isnt right.

IMO -new water pump, -new tensioner, -new idler pulley aren't usually a service item on the B16.

Dunx

white suggests lean, and your tuner says its mega rich??? hmm, ditch those oversize wheels, thats the main reason for lack of power!
perhaps thats your only problem? and perhaps the dyno operator has made mistakes and you wheel hp has been miscalculated/converted to fly wheel hp and given a false figure.
as said service it and put some proper wheels on and get it dyno'd somewhere else and go from there!
