Hi has anyone had this problem?

had a quick search for it but none seem to describle my leak

my drivers side floor matt seems to get a damp circle just infront of where the clutch is, and another little one too the right of it

in heavy rain this circle becomes soaking and it spreads across making the rest of the floor pretty damp

from where the soaking patch is i cant figure where the water is coming 'down' from it seems like it is soaking 'up' from underneath? or where else could it come from?

Hi mate I hade same probliem with my ej9 but on the passenger side, so I took off all the heater fan unit and there were a little hole just under the windscreen but inside the car that in heavy rain leaked so I coverd it up with silicon and also took off the cover that hides the wiper motor and also cleaned there out as well and problem went after that

I've had the exact same problem for a couple of months and it is driving me crazy!!!

Engine gromits? After market or alarm wiring? Door seal? Wing mirror seal? Aerial? are all possibilities....But i've looked at all of these and still can't stop it. It's not that major in mine but the floor is constatnly damp

Anyone else with help would be great :)

I'd put a fiver on it being a split in the seam sealant at the top corner of the firewall..

My EK4 used to do it, I dug out all the crusty old **** and applied fresh seam sealant and problem solved.. It is a PITA though, dash out jobby :nice:

any reference pics?

straight under my pedals seem bone dry on the sloped part of the floor, and the more towards the side/door i get the dryer it gets

Unfortunately not mate, sorry..

If you have a look up behind the dash, right into the top corner with a torch or something, you should be able to see water marks if that is where it's been leaking in..

I had this problem in my old EK4, it drove me crazy too and i tried everythin, sunroof seals, rear light seals all the gromets, all the window seals, door seals, seam sealer .

Guy who bought my car Gorbash on this site stripped the whole interior to find out it was a hole in the coolant lines for the heater matrix.

I always did wonder why i lost a little bit of coolant now and then.

Might be worth a check

coolant as in coolant for the radiator lol?

i did have to top that up for the first time recently but it doesnt seem to have dropped yet i will keep checking it tho

could be the freezing weather over the last couple of months has cracked a hose.

power steering pump leaks now too :(

Has anyone found a fix to this? I have the EXACT same problem as the thread starter. Wet patch in the drivers footwell pretty much in line with the clutch pedal. It's been raining today but i can't see any visible water trail.

EK9 of course

cracked seam sealant most likely. going to be very hard to see with all the interior in the way but look along the firewall and in by the heater matrix. The hole could be tiny but thats still enough for water to get through.

Yours sounds similat to mines mate! Look anything like this?
