Afternoon all,

I'm new to ek's, but i've had a tuned past...
anyways I've got an ek9 with hks panel, reverb box removed (can't remember the proper name), and oversized throttle body.

She's getting a timing belt change as she's a fresh import,
the question is:

As I'm spending £400(odd) on the timing belt + water pump...
to "save" money, is it worth getting some cams wedged in there at the same time?

Also what are my other alternatives, ie:
If i change cams & gear @ a later stage, do i need new belts?
would simple timing pullies (to advance/retard cams independantly) require a new belt?

If so whats the best route, change the timing pullies at the same time as the belt, giving options for future leg room.

or

just go cams, pullies the lot.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for so many questions in one post:)
Cheers,
Tom

You would save money on the labour if you was to do it all at once. Do you use your car for eveyday driving ?

Dont forget to get the most out of it with different cams you will have to get it mapped etc and you may need other bits like uprated valve springs and retainers ,ported and polished, head raise of compression etc, this will all depend on how aggressive the cams are that you go for

the b16b head is already ported an polished

i think thats not a very well thought out or researched question, change the belt and tensioner to begin with,as said,
its a bit more complex than just wedging some cams in and bunging the pullies on and timing them in unless your only using slightly upgraded cams.
