Hi there,

There is so much mis-information out there. Partly because most of the forums are US based.

Do EK9s (both OBD2a and OBD2b versions) have an ELD?

Cheers

If you mean something to measure the the weight to self adjust the head lamps the answer is NO.

No JDM cars do not have ELD's.

When I did my B18C6 swap I had to use a JDM loom and alternator as the uk alternator has a load detector and the JDM P73 does not have a load detector sensor. This made the car idle at 1050 rpm.

Hope this helps.

Contray to Jimbo's post I believe they do!

My A'PEXi RSM shows the voltage drop to about 12.1v when warmed up and not running any accessories, turn the lights or fans on or exceed ~3000rpm and the voltage shoots up to 14.1-14.3v which fits with the characteristics of the ELD's behavior, that combined with the brown box (the ELD) in the engine bay fuse box I'd say they do!

Mine idles at 1k with ek9 Loom on the b16b. (obviously)

Alternator though I believe IIRC is also from an ek9. From livvy if my memory serves my correctly.

It's always idled at 1k never bothered me really....

ELD is in the fuse box at the far right of the bulkhead
