Hi, when changing the dizzy cap, rotor arm and coil pack do I need any new gaskets?

Cheers
Rambo:nice:

nice cheers! been having a few problems when starting her up lately! Maybe every one in 5 starts she really struggles to start! I have done 2 services since I got the ek9 about 3 months ago. Changed plugs, oil, got valve clearances done, leads were new, etc! So I reckoned it may be the coil pack or dizzy pack as I wasnt sure when it had last been changed! hope it works! It has also been running a bit hence the reason I got the thermostat but had no time to fit it all yet. Waiting on my new induction kit then I will do it all at once with:

Js Racing Carbon Intake & custom cold air feed (cheers jugbugz!)
OEM coil pack
OEM dizzy cap and rotor arm
OEM thermostat
Honda coolant
Spoon rear upper strut brace
Mfactory Oil catch can

Also the heaters in my car have been blowing pretty sh*t lately. You know when I put it up to 4 it feels more like 1! What could be wrong? blocked airways, heater matrix, pollon filter, etc?

starting problems could be battery related mate get it checked - pollen filter needs changed by the sound of it as well with the heater problem

the fan speed module may be faulty, if you open the glove box and push the sides in the the glove box will drop all the way down and you will see the air box. there will be a black four pin connector that looks like its going into the fan box either side of the connector is two screws. undo them and have a look at the module some times they get really dusty and need a clean or when there is a fault with them it reverts to only one speed.

Pimpin - battery (bosch) and earths (buddyclub condenser) have not long been changed so not sure it could be that. I'll defo get the pollon filter changed!

Civicsport - thanks for the advice mate I'll have a look! :)

WTF! just phoned honda, gave them my chassis number and they said my car doesnt have a pollen filter. wots the crack?

i didnt think the ek9 was any different - look behind the glovebox and remove the black panel thats there, thats where its located

Flywheel Sensor / Camshaft Sensor. Would that not be the cause of bad starting?

pimpinblack - had a look but no filter there. just have to give the module and that a good clean like what civicsport said.

S40TYD - I'll get the sensors checked if still starts funny once I've changed the coil pack and dizzy cap, cheers mate!

i wouldnt worry mate, pollen filters are a pain in the arse. generallt find its been removed bacause the windows are steaming up for no reason. honestly dont worry

Pollen filters an accessory part for the EK9. although I use one Ive NEVER had that issue. Only time i see that happen is when the climate control is left on RECIRCULATE.

It definitely makes a great different in quality when you work at or travel through really dusty areas, Im sure all the civic owners know how annoying air-dust is when it settles on your dash. Thisll also be a great improvement for people with hayfever!! :nice:
