difference between the ek9 head and dc2 type r head

the only difference i see on that between the heads is the intake manifold.

The b16b head vs b18c 96 spec R head.

The two heads are similar apart from the intake open, intake duration and the overlap

just click the link and check it out mate.

there is no info on the 98 spec R engine mate. thats why i posted the link so guys can check it and compare mate.

Choose any one of the heads. the differences are so tiny, if any, that it is worthless trying to figure out which is better. The B16B is a destroked B18C.

I was always told they are the same its the cams nd intake which arer different
And thats true :)

Even cams can be the same, depending on which DC2 you compare it too. I always thought that the B16B head has the same cams as the 98 spec DC2, but I was told it's more or less hit and miss wether you got 96spec DC2 or 98spec DC2 cams. Someone on here told me who had found out himself, don't know his name anymore though :p

heads are the same, theyre both ported PR3/PR4 castings.

as stated its the cams which differ between ek9 and itr variants.

Between b16b and b18cR
The heads themselves ARE the same casting

The Intakes are the same casting also. Just b16b have an extra lil vac pipe on the back added after casting.

The valves and valvetrin are the same.

The only difference is that b16b's are fitted with the later spec cams which give an extra 3degress duration only on the intake vtdc cam lobe. These cams are fitted to all UK b18c6's and the majority of post 98spec ITR's but some where still fitted with the older spec cams on the production line up to 2000.

But actual head differences there are NONE!.

Jeez how many times has this been covered!!
Search button is there for a reason!
